Empress_Owl: Lol... there are chapters ?... so I assume i'm at chapter 1...
The pleague village !!! .... the crazy ghost dogs... ??
Thanks !!! >:"> **motivation level : 51%...**
There are Prologue, 5 Chapters and Epilogue to the first game.
A few hints: If you really have problems with the combat system, play the game on easy. It's worth to play the game several times anyway because of the decisions/consequences. You can play on harder settings another time.

If you're into reading at all, read the books. I think they might all be available in French. Inconceivably English is among the last languages they were translated to (and still in progress). IMO the books are awesome, and also this way you will understand a lot more of the conversations (esp. with long time friends of Geralt, like Zoltan Chivay).
Also, Witcher 3 "spoils" one of the big surprises of the ending of the Witcher novels. They simply assume you know the truth about someone...

Also, if you have any questions or need advice - I've played through the first game three times, I know it rather well ;-)

Stilton: I'm looking at FRACT OSC. It looks really nice and pleasantly different. I recently finished Q.U.B.E. and enjoyed it, so I fancy another visually appealing puzzler-cum-isolated adventure thingy.
I really would like to play that game (own it), but somehow I have very bad sound stuttering issues. That's especially bad for a game that is about sound and music. :-/

PS: Ha! Someone I can ask when stuck in Q.U.B.E.
Interestingly my kids love that game, esp. my elder daughter. I play and she tries to figure out the puzzles. She's not bad considering she's never seen anything like this before.

How about you? Anything you like the look of?

Empress_Owl: Did you play Portal games ? I loved them :)
Yeah... So far I bought Daed Synchronicity, Never Alone artic edition, and the 2 Baldur's Gate enhanced edition games :)
Do you have Banished ?... I got a free copy...
Both Portals are really good, although I prefer the first one. Very clever game and a really good story and music.

Never enough games!

I bought Banished a while ago and got a free copy this time, so thanks for the offer but I don't need it. There's a thread for giving away the free games here :-)

If any of you too could save the key until after the sale I would be most grateful. The game interests me, but it could be I get it as a bonus myself - don't know yet.

A shame about your sound issues. The game looks like a completely immersive 'other world', so if I don't get on with the game I can at least go there to get away from life's stresses :-)

Q.U.B.E. is really good and one of the best puzzlers I've played. You never get the feeling the developers are messing with you because all of the problems can be solved logically and with patience. When your daughter clears it she'll feel glad she made the journey :-)

superstande: so your bank thinks ... somebody has stolen your card or something..?
If so... I had that happen once.. called my bank and after some hassle with identification, they let me know they had some security measure based on what ever and then they eventually restarted the card use...
Not quite sure what they're thinking. It's more automatic crap, and unlike GOG, they're not going to be straight about why it's happening.

Will get it worked out, so hopefully I can stop having it happen.
I swear, I bought like a maniac during the summer sale. Number of blocks during? Zero.

It seems my problems with FRACT OSC aren't all too common. I blame it on my ageing CPU and the shitty onboard sound chip. I have sound stuttering in Witcher 3 sometimes, and my CPU is actually below min specs for that game.

Agree on Q.U.B.E. Less frustrating than most puzzle games and very nice and clean aesthetics.

PS: Got Banished from Stilton! Thanks a ton, mate!

Yeah that sort of stuff should not happen.
Dammit! hope they stop that soon.

Ok... thanks for the advice !! :)
I don't read much, so I don't think I'll ever have the courage to read the Witcher books... but if I'm stuck, I'll ask you :) thanks !!!

I don't give a shit about rep points but why this post of mine was downvoted ?

Stilton: OK, I'll take a look. Thanks for the recommendation :-) I like a good puzzler. I like peanut butter cookies, too :-)
Haaa :-D That's great to hear!

NoNewTaleToTell: Congrats on finishing it! I've managed to clear about 75% of the map but I'm stuck and have no idea how to clear the remaining rooms haha. It's definitely fun, but it does make me feel like a bit of a lame brain.
To be totally honest, I did have to look at a walkthrough for one puzzle that had me stumped for hours. I usually try to avoid doing that, but, well, everyone has a breaking point :-p
