Good evening. =)

Better since I got my card problems resolved. How was your day?

Stilton: Sexy would be OK, or full of zazz :-)

Glad you got your card back.

CarrionCrow: -laughs- The second one works.

Wasn't really expecting Ys 6 to be on sale, so that counts as a pleasant surprise.
Was also going back and forth on whether to get standard or deluxe Lords of Xulima, but seeing how many extras they added in, I feel better about buying the deluxe.

Thank you. =) Me too, getting blocked 5 times recently was a bit much.
Don't think it'll be a problem again for a while, at least. Firek was working with the payment people to get them to calm down, not sink their teeth into my ass quite so readily.

Also, I'm about 10 hours into Letter Quest. I think you'll like it. The mix of RPG-type upgrades, multiple difficulty levels within the standard game and general gameplay is fun. (Even if I start to feel slightly dyslexic as I click letters in backwards sometimes.)
My shelves are looking pretty zazzy, too, which for some infant reason always puts a smile on my chops.

Sometimes these prices are too good to ignore. After being pissed that Grim Fandango looks like it could be a problem I was glad to get FRACT, and at that price I'm pleased I did.

I suppose the bank has got some new software that jumps on anything even remotely suspicious, but the fact you keep spending money at the same place should be flagged as worth investigating before they automatically snatch your card away. I can't imagine the likelihood is high that your bank details would be lifted by someone with exactly the same affliction :P

Yes, Letter Quest had a good feel about it straight away. A basic good idea well implemented always goes a long way with me. And anything that keeps the 'leettle grey cells' warm is a bonus :-)

Hi Crow :)
Good to hear that - was interesting but quite exhausting...nothing unusual for a weekend seminar :)

Stilton: Rep is unfortunately way too open to abuse and seems pretty redundant. When you go to a new place of work/school everyone isn't wearing 'rep' badges - you work out who you want to hang out with yourself. Its the same here. If you like a thread you visit that thread. The only thing rep does is give a chance to anyone who feels like being unpleasant to piss someone else off. Uprepping because someone does something good - like here with gifting or the general friendship, humour and help that circulates - is FAR less valuable to me (to the point of being worthless) than the thanks someone gives either privately via chat or openly in the forum for whatever's been said or done. Rep could be binned for all I care.

On a happier note, I just took my first exploratory steps into the world of FRACT....

Fascinating is all I'm going to say, but if pressed I would add beautiful as well.
Agree with everything except for FRACT, which I haven't played ;-p
I know many of us do that "+1 soandso for gifting me whaddyacallit" stuff, and I wonder if that is a bad idea, because it just brings more attention to rep. But for me, it's just part of the tradition of ninja-gifting here. It is a simple way to involve everyone else a little bit, which makes it even more fun to me. Even if the numbers are meaningless, I like the idea of "do something to this person."
(That said, I have to admit, I do kinda like my stars. I think I've been hanging around Owl too much ;-p)

And now I'm looking at FRACT's game page :-)

You're right about everyone getting involved in something positive. That should hopefully come out in the way the majority of people (the regulars) conduct themselves here, but a little extra is good. Its just a shame that the little extra can be abused in the way it is.

And give FRACT a good think if you're a puzzleer - its one of those games that hits the senses and mind with an equally pleasurable thump.
For those who don't scroll all the way down the front page, beyond the sale : Mini-Metro was just released an hour ago :-)

The first bullet point is almost enough to convince me ;-)
- Compelling, constructive, hectic, relaxed gameplay. If that makes sense. It doesn't though, aye? You just gotta play it
