I promise that I'm not an Aussie stalker, but if you can promise me that people are funny like this? That's a damn good start. (and I hear that there's amazing food...)

Vets do they cost an arm and a leg to do house calls?Because over here they do and you have to go to them..
There are quite costly at times. We have them come to inspect the animals several times a year, mainly part of UK and EU regulations. And of course, we call them if the animals are sick. But with my family been farmers for generations, we can handle most problems ourselves. As for hitting the dirty old man vet, well it's just not worth it. If he ever tried anything then I most definitely would, but I think he is just all talk. He is not our usual vet, he just covers for our usual vet when he is off ill.

Not too bad, thank you. I'm just enjoying some warmth before I go back out to do some more work. It's snowing pretty heavily here at the moment, but at least the wind is not as strong today. But it's still brass monkey temperature. :-)

That's good to hear.
Any weather that bad will probably freeze off anything exposed, not exactly a great time to be climbing around on greenhouses.

And for those confused about the jazz references...

I'm sick - doc tells me to stay in bed for a couple of days and take my meds. I'm doing that. In the mean time, I'm revisiting my jazz albums (or cds or crap I have on NAS...). I'm doing it in chronological order.

Hence the references...

I will be out in the fields most of today, so I won't be stuck climbing around all day. I will be working on the greenhouse during the afternoon, but without the strong cold wind that we had the last few days, it should be okay. I just hope that it doesn't decide to get windy again once I start.

I'll try not to :-). I will be okay, but thank you for the concern. I do actually enjoy it, as strange as it sounds. I enjoy most kinds of manual work, I don't think I would be well suited for an office job, or any indoors job for that matter.
