EndreWhiteMane: For any who haven't heard me mention it before, my favorite family friendly Halloween movie:

It might have been abused by the goth community until people grew sick of it. But I still think it's one of, if not the, best of his movies to date, and a must see for this weekend.

Great movie, Tim Burton is a genius.

Stilton: Redemption. It went off on a peculiar tangent and I lost all interest. Its like what I imagine the Bloodrayne games to be, which haven't played but which seem to be trying to add something exciting to the Vampire mythos and in so doing lose the plot completely

toxicTom: Get Bloodlines. Seriously. You'll love it.
Can you get it DRM free anywhere? I see Steam have it, but I'm not into clients etc.

Meh, he lost a lot of cred with me after his WTF of the apes.

Ed Wood was absolutely delicious though.
Okay, finally back. Only made 9 stops, and what fun stops they were.

I'm afraid you're limited to boiled water in this case. Nothing to wash away the taste of the DRM pipes. Also the game is buggy as hell wiithout the patch.

Stilton: You are clearly a rabbit with enough on its plate... :-)

A pity, but if the time ever allows, it really is worth a go.

j0ekerr: Actually I do have 20-odd year old setting for a story. Problem is, it's an adolescent power fantasy in which practically every character is overpowered. You see, the kernel of the story originated during those long treks to and from school, particularly during the bits were you split with your friends and walk the rest of the way alone, and you occupy your mind with... adolescent power fantasies about overpowered characters.

Thing is, the damn thing kind of stuck with me, I fleshed it out, gave it a background, a history, I never really abandoned it and slowly evolved it over the years.

The main problem though, is that the main character was always practically on Tiamat power levels. Which as I grew out of the power-trip phase, I realized how unwieldy and mary-sueish that was. So I eventually left it behind, although I still remember it fondly with the nostalgia of a simpler, easier time.

Stilton: Sleep well, Fearful :-)

j0ekerr: Same from me.
If a story idea has stayed with you that long, then it sounds like it needs to come out. The 30 day routine produces a first draft with hopefully enough material in it to know if it can be refined into an eventual finished product. In this respect its really useful as you can work out fairly quickly if an idea has the legs to become something interesting. Maybe it'll be worth trying it if only for that reason. And it doesn't have to be done in November. I did my first one solo in February of whatever year it was - the month format simply provides a familiar framework to keep the work moving forward.

Time for me to disappear in typical Invisible Man fashion :-)

Have a good and creepy evening - it is Halloween, Eve after all!

Tomorrow the real fun begins.... \('o')/

I almost miss the fact that there's no trick or treating here.

I'd be the one who knocks on every door and demand my treat; bitch. Then I'd ridicule their inferior candy and offer them the chance to distribute my superior, 99.1% pure product that gives a faster and better sugar high; after making them say my name.

Trick or treating is an annoyance when you're not the one doing it.

If I wanted crotchspawn around during the one holiday I actually like, I'd have been stupid enough to have at least one by now.

-laughs- Breaking Bad Halloween special?
