ddickinson: And again, the older games were often quite hard, with no real difficulty levels. I am not sure if I found Dizzy as hard back when I was younger, and it is definitely not the hardest game ever, but it can be a challenge. The most annoying thing with older games, especially those on cassette was that you couldn't save progress for the most part, so if you have to stop playing then you often lose all your progress.
Ugh... I do not miss being unable to save my progress. I've never finished some really old games because they can take all day to complete and can't be saved :-\
I think I didn't mind difficult games when I was younger because I had (compared to now) so few games. Now that I have so many, I am spoiled. If a game is too hard, I can just switch to one of the hundreds of easier ones instantly :-p
