j0ekerr: In that case, my salute to you. Your badass creed just jumped up another notch in my book.
I still have most of my old computers, and some that my brothers used to own. Most are just stuck in the attic, which is where we got the ZX Spectrum from last night. And the Mega Drive, but we won't have time to play that before we go, maybe when we get back. I also found the Commodore 64 and a nice Terminator 2 cartridge game for it instead of the usual tape games.

Empress_Owl: Good morning my Agent ! :)
**Big hug with coffee**
Pretty nice so far, thanks... and you ?...
Pretty nice? Hm... Not good enough. I'll have to fix that. *brainstorming*
I'm a 9 today :-)

AgentBirdnest: Save anywhere should be mandatory. It seems like it has only become less common over the last few years. It can get really annoying if not done right, which is usually the case. I don't always use it though. Sometimes I like to play through Deus Ex without saving. So if I die, I have to start over entirely :-) (What was I just saying about preferring easy games? n__n)
Yeah, developers are getting more lazy, especially over the last few years. I still have not played Deux Ex yet.

ddickinson: I am doing good today, definitely seems to be one of my better health days today, which is a nice change compared to the last few days. Sadly this is my last day on GOG for a while as I go away tomorrow, but I am looking forward to it and hopefully it will be a lot of fun.

Sorry, I meant that to be that I don't have any coffee as I don't like it. Of course you get coffee, a big giant pool full of coffee.

I'm happy that you're doing better !! and seem pretty excited about your trip !!
Of course we'll miss you all the time you're gone ; but we won't go anywhere :) and will wait impatiently for your return. I hope you'll have great time there, enjoy every minute, take care of you, and come back in a great mood and health.
**Big soaking coffee hug**
Good morning and I hope you're all ready for my hugs.

I know, which is also why so many games sounded the same. But hey, we have games made today that have worse sound, so it is not all bad. :-)
True, sometimes music got thrown out the window due to space and hardware constraints and all we got were a couple sound effects. But the few that actually put an effort in their music, managed to create some truly memorable and distinctive pieces. Nowadays all games get beautiful orchestral pieces... that are absolutely bland, like those of any other movie's forgettable soundtrack.

I do like Jeremy Soule's work though.

Very happy to read you're doing better, not so much to learn you'll be leaving us again but hoping you'll come back fully restored, or at least with some kick-ass bionics. Get a chainfist.

I am hoping I get to have quite a few good health days while I am away so we can enjoy it a little better. I am indeed looking forward to my trip, it will be nice to get away for a while and just try to have some fun and put all the recent stuff behind me as best I can.

So you are only a 7.5 today. Anything I can to to make that a higher number?

*big hug while passing Owl a towel*

I know it is not the same, and not everyone likes the game, but I always thought the music on Final Fantasy VII was quite good given it was all produced on the onboard sound chip. Some older games (much older than FFVII) had very nice music, and as you said it was lovely to see what they could do with such limited resources.

Thank you. The last two times I went away for a while was due to me nearly dying and ending up in intensive care, so it will be nice going away just for a little holiday. Bionics? Nah, those are for those wimpy Space Marines. All I need is my trusty bolter, chainsword or power-sword, and maybe the occasional heavy flamer. :-)

(Looking back on it, that scene seems a little dark for a kids movie.)

Deus Ex, at least the first one is a damned good game.
