CarrionCrow: Good night, Joker Rabbit. =)

-laughs- The night will end as it usually does. Myself, maybe No New Tale To Tell, then people will start to show up again roughly around midnight local time.

Stilton: What time is it there? I've got nearly I:30 am here. I hate it when my head starts to fill with smoke and I keep thinking about bed. Real pain on the R's.
Sorry, got pulled away by roommates.

Right now, it's 6:57 pm.
avatar
Stilton: I was ready for you that time :-0 How are you feeling, sleepy yet?
avatar
moonshineshadow: Not really. More like getting more awake again. But yeah. I'll survive it ;-)
I don't mean to sound like your grandmother :-)

Have you got any Halloween games? Do you even celebrate Halloween in Switzerland? I got a copy of Cat Lady a couple of days ago and from what I've seen it looks really good. A bit sinister.

Right, so your seven hours behind - or 17 ahead...

*big hug*
No Halloween games here. But Halloween is not a thing here, I don't do anything for it. Of course all this commercial stuff started spilling over some years ago, but is has no tradition and I have no interest in it. Also I am not sure what would count as Halloween games, if it means scary then I don't even have games like that ;-)

That's what we call 'Each To Their Own,' or 'Horses for Courses.' What I do you might not do. 'What would be the German/Swiss equivalent? Also, I'm assuming Keks! means some nice kind of sweet cake or biscuit? In the UK, Keks is a slang term for trousers. I can't imagine you choosing 'Trousers!' as your forum title :-)

The German saying is "Jedem das seine" :D
Keks is the German word for cookie ;-) But there is also a second inofficial family meaning to it :P

Yes, that's it. On the first, my clock goes back an hour, so it'll be eight hours then.

Time zones are such a pain in the ass.

Seriously wishing the damn food was done cooking already. As soon as I shit-talk laptops, what happens? Situation where a laptop would be useful. Go figure.

Ah, I've an idea what that might be (and I'm probably completely wrong...) :-)

Laptops have their uses. I've never been sold on them, except at monster sale time when it would be handy having something that doesn't sound like Hurricane Patricia bearing down on me so I could get some sleep. I'm the proud owner of two PCs with more fans between them than Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.

Just an FYI in case you didn't know, The Cat Lady is a (loose) sequel to a game called Downfall. A few characters carry over from Downfall to The Cat Lady, and a few things in The Cat Lady will make more sense if you play Downfall.

You can download Downfall for free (legally) via its official website http://www.quiethavenhotel.co.uk/

It (Downfall) is also currently in the process of being remade in the style of The Cat Lady. Once the remake is finished then the dev is going to start working on The Cat Lady's sequel, currently titled Lorelai.

Wonderful! Thanks very much - I'll digest it before Cat Lady and hopefully scratch my head less when they're done :-)

True, the laptop would probably be better on a straight noise level. Haven't ever really been a fan, going with the standard large tower instead.

You're welcome! If you have any questions or need any help with either game then let me know.

With Halloween coming up, I might just take a day and play Downfall and The Cat Lady back to back, I've been meaning to do that anyway.

That sounds like a great idea. And there's no better time to do it. Sometimes it feels like games have taken over from books for that settle in and get involved feeling, which I suppose is a good and bad thing. Books will always be up there for me, but some games are just so good it would be a real shame to miss out.
GOG is trying to kill my budget so I can't pillage any large sale. I'm sure of this. It's unusual to have not 1 or 2, but 7 games on my list pop up for sale at once.

Its an unknown sometimes when that happens - grab them and cross them off the list, but if a sale is looming there might something even better. The truth is they'll all go into the pot and come around again, so what I do these days is go by 'want the most' and that way I at least get something I want for a good price.

You're right. They'll keep coming back around unless they get pulled, which doesn't happen very often.

I'm trying to get my list cleared so that purchases will be once every six months in a nice big pile instead of piecemeal buying here, there and everywhere.
