CarrionCrow: Can't complain here. Should be doing the housework I procrastinated over all day long, but listening to music instead.

No input on Sims games, never played any of them and everything I've ever seen is people devising ways to kill their people off in amusing ways.

How are you doing?
Doing alright here. My sickness has subsided, mostly just sneezing now, which I can deal with.

I put Shadowrun: Dragonfall aside for a few days due to getting slightly annoyed with a side quest. It seems to have a trend of hiding enemies behind cover under the fog of war so you walk right into them, if that makes sense? As in, you go wandering down a hallway without cover and suddenly you come to a room with three or four enemies already settled behind cover waiting for you, and you have to spend at least one round getting behind cover while the enemy gets two free rounds of offense in. I appreciate the increased difficulty, but not that kind.

Glad to hear you're feeling better aside from the stupid sneezes.

I can see why you would. There's a highly technical term for that kind of difficulty elevation in a game - bullshit.

Yeah, left me frustrated enough to put it aside for a while, I'll definitely be going back to it though.

What are/were you listening to?

Not exactly great game design there. If the AI has to cheat in order to provide proper challenge, you're supposed to conceal that so the player isn't thinking the scenario is crap.

Hmm. Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Genitorturers, Ren and Stimpy, ICP, Queen, Pink Floyd, Dead or Alive, Dethklok, Flock of Seagulls...that's about it for the last bit.

And now I'm watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail, because it's awesome.

I'm torn if I should buy the current Weekly Bundle from Humble (tier 3). My collection seriously lacks in terms of VNs and anime-style games and the studio could be something cool to craft little stories, maybe even together with my kids some time. And all titles are available DRM-free.
On the other hand I have no idea if the games/VNs are actually any good.

Now that was perfect timing. Less than 30 seconds ago, I was thinking that Holy Grail might be the most quoted, most quotable movie of all time.

Well, Asphyxia looks interesting in a deeper story with serious subject matter kind of way. Loren the Amazon Princess might be decent, it's from the same people who did Planet Stronghold (which should be enough to make me scream in horror) but it looks like they did a better job on this one, Royal Trap looks like it has a lot of replay value, Sakura Spirit looks like a little story mixed with a lot of fan service, and World End Economica seems good but pretty much a straight visual novel with no added elements (it's also the middle part, so if you find it interesting, you'll immediately want to stop, backtrack and buy episode 1).

If you're not against visual novels in general, you should get a lot more than 12 dollars worth of entertainment out of the pack.
With the speed of yawns, a cloud of dust and a hearty 'Hi-yo, Silver'!
The sleepy Endre rises again.

Morning all, hope everyone is well.
Trying to wake up enough to find the place I work.
Then 2 days off, yay.

Good morning. =)

Doing all right here, watching a movie in between housework. Guess which part is the more fun of the two...

Also, will second the whole yawning thing.
*hugs everyone*

The Royal Trap is a good VN, I definitely enjoyed that. There are different relationship routes, though, and if you don't want to spoil the main mystery for yourself it's better to do certain routes first. That said, I think the creator has now made it impossible to start with the most spoilery route (not sure, I played it quite a while ago myself), so that should not be a problem. As for Loren: it's a decent visual novel with RPG elements. You can equip gear and you'll have to fight quite a few battles over the game. The writing is occasionally clunky and cheesy, but overall it's an enjoyable experience, and I definitely feel as though Winter Wolves is constantly improving.
Hello, gang :-)

Hope everyone's well and having a good Saturday (or is it still Friday...Thursday?).

My PC didn't want to start today. The power supply sounded like an old washing machine filled with mud when it booted. I think its in protest of all the downloading I'm doing (Crow, you pointed this out yesterday).

I can't say I blame it, but what worries me more is that it *(whispers)* seems to be thinking for itself...

I departed the forum at a relatively sensible hour early this morning, all set for bed, and thought I'd have one of those 'Quick Five Minutes' thingies on Q.U.B.E. Two hours later I was more tired than ever and rueing any conviction that I know what I'm doing.

Next time, someone just tell me to shut down and go to bed, please.

Got them. And now I'm stuck with a lot of Steam keys I don't need... Someone interested?

I would greatly appreciate Loren if no one comes forward requesting it and you've got a spare. Would like to see Winter Wolves' level of improvement since the groan-inducer known as Planet Stronghold.

Howdy Sir Toxic! ;)

I might... if you might be interesting in a little trade... say taking a code of wasteland 1? ^__^

Now have W2 special directorial cut installed... and luckily this process left me with the original intact in the neighbouring area. So I can just play them both. That's sane, right? :p
The new 'quirks' were a fun read. Not so sure I want any of that madness upon my team, though :)
