EndreWhiteMane: OK, done being an ass.
Hope everyone is well today and I'm off to work now. :-)
Noo! don't go! :p
Work... how horrible!
that's just pure madness!
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: I bought Lula and Hunipop, does anyone know how I get my Steam keys for those?
I think you have to buy a copy of DEFCON first. You need low standards and DRM to use Steam ;-)
(I'm kidding... mostly...)

Hello, and have a good day, Endre!

Leaving us for work? And I thought you were done being an ass. ;)
Enjoy your day!
Hello to the new people, and have a good day at work Endre! *hugs*

ElTerprise: Yup. Interesting that the new releases are already part of it as well...and at least the Shantae thingy does look somewhat interesting ... no idea what to think about the other two new releases though.
I guess it was a nice idea for a launch promo. Maybe they would have been discounted anyway and including them in the promo gives them more coverage. I don't think any are for me, but I see from the comments in the release threads that many people love the games.

AgentBirdnest: The WW2 ones were my favourites. The expansion to the first game, United Offensive, was my personal favourite of the entire series. I enjoyed the first modern game, but didn't really bother with the series after that.

(I giggle at just about everything :-))
I liked the mixture in the WW2 COD. You were not just American saving the world single handed (and for some reason driving a Russian tank in Russia for no justified reason like on MOH.). I like that it took the view of three of the fighting forces, and that neither was really put above the other. It made it feel like more of a world war and not just an American war. I like that expansion as well, especially the RAF part where you are on the bomber, that was quite different, and a nice change of pace.

(But apparently you giggle extra at balloon boobies?) :-)

superstande: Oh, okay... better keep it slow then. Quality, not so much quantity? ;)

Ah, A Moomin is 'muumi' in Finnish and it doesn't really mean anything in the language. I guess Tove Jansson coined the term to be used as a race, you know, as in like goblins, gnomes and moomins ;)

There's a story in Finnish wikipedia that her uncle coined the word first, when he told her scary stories about some scary creatures who lived in a food closet :)
But those were not the real moomins! ;)
Real moomins are nice and polite just like Tove Jansson describes them!
I figured it was possibly a made up term, but I thought I would ask as I have no knowledge really of Swedish or Finnish words. It makes sense to use your own term for them, especially as they are quite unique looking.

A scary story? So perhaps they are inspired by some unknown folk lore perhaps? I recently played Year Walk, which has either Swedish or Finnish folk lore in the game, and it was quite interesting, although the game was a big mixed. Not bad, nothing special, but interesting.

You use Steam? ……. BURN THE WITCH! :-)
(Incidentally, there is a very very bad game on Steam called ELT. But don't look at it, it is horrible.)

I guess they would've been discounted regardless...i mean non of them are really "new" games...same here after reading some more abouth the releases.

What does the Red Army Faction has to do with WW2? (kidding...) :P

As a teen I once read that the poet Hans Magnus Enzensberger was bartender for the RAF in the 1950s - and I didn't know what the abbreviation stands for back then. So I imagined a bunch of merry, drinking terrorists ;)

Good morning, lovely Owl!

The tests went okay, I hate having to be stuck in those machines and to drink the horrible solution (for one I had to have stuff injected into me for the scan), and they took lots and lots of blood. Well, not too much, maybe a pint or so, but that is nearly and arm full! :-)

How did your presentation go? I am glad to hear you got your wallet back, that must have been a big relief for you after all that worry?

Edit: I see the avatars are working properly now. Moon must be sad to hear that. :-)
Good afternoon, Mrs DD !
Wow, I hope they left you some blood anyway, it can be useful... (was this a vampires hospital ?...)
Glad to read the tests went ok... Do you know which day of next week you'll get the results ?
My presentation was boring as pluck and disappointing, to me... at last the 4 people who came (instead of 8... because there were truck drivers strikes and migrants problems at the place, so some people didn't want to came there in car... so they didn't come at all... grmbl), so, the 4 people who bravely came, were polite and didn't fall asleep. They asked me questions I couldn't answer, this is very embarassing. As much as I enjoyed doing this exercise last year, this year's session was disappointing, not to say worse ):-| ...
Yes, it was truly relieving to find my wallet when I got back home :D I even gave it a kiss lol [/I'm french]
Yeah, Moon popped up, saw the large amount of avatars that finally changed all at the same time, and disappeared :-p ... poor Moon...

Took a quick look at Year Walk; the plot seems unique. Yeah, seems very Swedish ;) Too bad if it wasn't so good.

Finland has quite a bit of old folk lore too. There's all kinds of mystical creatures, like gnomes that live in saunas :)
Kind of remind me of Irish folk lore, in my opinion. Those leprechauns and what not.
The sauna gnome was to be given food or what ever or they'd get mad ;)

Interesting didn't know that - but i also didn't know the meaning of the abbrevation either when i was younger ;)

And being part of the promo means they are features twice: Once on their own release post, and then again at the top of the weekend promo, so good promotion for them.

And how dare you make a joke about the war, Germans can't do that. Can they? :-)

ElTerprise: What's wrong with using vaporised water? ;)

Well, if you drink it then you will start to deplete your body of vital minerals as the steam process removes all the minerals and nutrients out of the water, so eventually you would die.

Maybe it was removed, it was a bad game, possibly a Greenlight game.

It could indeed have been a vampire hospital, although it was daytime, but then some legends say vampires can be out in the daylight. Who knows, maybe they were just weird goths. :-)

I will not know really, I was told mid week, but hopefully it will be sooner, and hopefully they won't lose them this time. :-(

Sorry to hear your presentation did not go so well. Shall we get Agent to burn some thing for you to cheer you up? *big comforting hug*

Is your wallet made out of frog instead of leather? *tee hee* ;-)

So everyone scared her away? That is so sad. I miss seeing her on the thread as much. You lot are just so mean. >:-|
