Stilton: This is useful as regards
GG and DRM.
With GamersGate "DRM-free" games, the games really are DRM-free, it's just a pain in the ass to download them. Instead of downloading the installer directly, it downloads some encrypted file... but there's a workaround that is fairly simple that I think is covered in that thread... something along the lines of... before closing the downloader, look for a temporary folder in your "downloads" folder for the game, and for a brief time just at the end of the download, you'll have the actual .exe file in that folder, and you can copy it and paste it elsewhere.
Pretty absurd to have to do, but it's not too much work, and I've found it worth it on the occasion that GG has had a DRM-free version of a game I couldn't find elsewhere.
I should have just said, "yep, that thread has the answer," as my explanation probably just added to the confusion... sorry about that ;)
*oh, and hello, dear folks of the thread! Still mostly lost in space, but it could also be called "exploring in space," which sounds more ambitious and exciting. ;)
Take care, all, and have a lovely time-of-day! I'll most likely be sleeping soon.
I'm eager to see some talk of good builds for Age of Decadence... tried it in Early Access and got repeatedly pummeled by the first or second fight.
**and yeah, I actually read a bit further in that thread, and it was in fact explained better about two posts down. Haha. I need sleep. Or coffee. Or to nap while getting a coffee infusion. Ooh, yeah, I like that last one a lot.
