There, added system shock enhanced to wishlist, have 2 so I need 1 also.
Boy, these downloads are an uneven experience.

A string of relatively small games and they fly past pretty quickly and you think you'll be done sooner rather than later. But then you hit a gig wall of a few large games and it feels like time is standing still. Those Witcher games are going to be hell on legs...

Yeah, the experience of downloading it all tends to be that way. The false sense of security dashed against the rocks of "great, this one game is going to take 6 hours to complete".

On the bright side, if you think what you're doing now is fun, just wait until you have to go back through everything, see what needs patches or serial codes, then update the ones that've had so many patches added on that GOG just incorporated them into entirely new installers.

This was the dread scenario, so I'm making sure I get everything in one pass. The thought of having to check all over the place for serials, updates, DLC, etc. goes beyond nightmare. I went though it before and I know what it feels like.

True. Bad thing is, it's going to keep happening. I actually thought of backing my stockpile up on discs, but you'd have to be out of your mind to do that. This isn't just collecting, but maintaining that collection until every single game finally runs out of patches.
Huh...hopefully the internet will be stable now....was struggling with it for the last hours.....

Those updates really put an end to having a 'final' set. I'd like them to put the games out complete, and if any patches do turn up, put them all on a patch page so you can go back when you want and check what's been updated. If its just multiplayer performance its probable I wouldn't bother. I don't like ongoing updates coming along to spoil the set of things.

Hi, Elt.

Things here have been pretty stable (downloads, I mean). The forum was asleep until you and Crow turned up.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. With games like Original Sin or Pillars of Eternity, having five or six patches added onto the installer is a good thing. But, that causes the problem we've been talking about.

At least some of the time I'm here but not talking. Anyone ever finds themselves excruciatingly bored and wanting me to talk, just mention it. Quiet is one thing but not responding would feel rude.

Good evening.
Glad to hear that. Unfortunately i wasn't that lucky. Internet went out for about an hour and afterwards i re-lived the 56k time for some time -.-.....but it looks pretty good now....download speed is ok :)

I see....that lack of activity is unusual for weekday isn't it?

Btw: Like the new avatar :)

Glad your net's doing better. No one should ever have to experience the pain of dial-up...

I figure people have lives outside GOG (they do, don't they...?) so I just wait until the coffee's made or dinner is bathed and the baby's cooked so they can come back again. I'll holler if its important ;)

Thank you, I think its an improvement on the previous one. I think it scared Moon away, though. Maybe she's responsible for the tumbleweeds blowing about the place.

Or people just don't want to deal with these avatar changes and are therefore absent :P

Yes...that was really annoying. It took ages to load pages...

Some do, I'm sure. Silly people with their "offline"...-shakes head-

No baby cooking here. Too much noise involved.
