I think I'm pretty overworked and in desperate need of a break ... I just tried to wash my hair with shaving cream. And it wasn't even like I just confused the two bottles for a second, no, I was actually putting shaving cream on top of my head before I realized what I was doing. Maybe I should just give up on today.
Stilton: Oh, that's a shame! I wish you lived next door - we'd have board gaming nights and get everyone involved. Even getting the various pieces out of the box is fun :-) That sounds like a lot of fun! Wish I could join. :) I do have some friends who like board games but the problem is getting enough of them together as they live all over the country and keep very different schedules.
LeoLR: Exactly my thoughts.
My friends and I try to organize a get together to play some games from time to time. It is a good way to get updated on our daily life. Infinitely better and more fun than a direct call or email. :-) Yep, that's definitely true. Wish I could do that sort of thing more often with my friends as well.
j0ekerr: Good moaning. How are ye doin'?
So I had my first day of class. I was a bit scared to be dropped in the middle of stuff I didn't know, specially math and physics and such. I had no idea how I'd deal with stuff I didn't understand or lacked background to.
Well whaddayaknow. First math lesson and what is it? Limits, the same limits I learned at high school 20 years ago. The ones I struggled with until I ultimately dominated them like a mistress at a massage parlor.
Pretty much the same with physics, no complicated stuff that made my head spin.
So far as I can tell. What we're seeing is mostly revision of high school material. No new shite.
I'm feeling much more confident now.
In other news. Damnit CDprojekt why do your games need me to invest every waking moment in them? A whole week and I've just started chapter 4 of the first witcher.
I ain't complainin'. Good to hear your first day went well. It seems logical that they would start with high school level stuff and work their way up from there, as most students are probably fresh out of high school. Seems like you joined at the right time. :)
akhliber: Been lurking, just pretty busy with lifestuffs and haven't felt I've had anything useful to say in the moments I've been at the computer... Just sending some love to the fine lads and ladies of the thread. I hope you all have a lovely week!
I'll hopefully be more "cognitively functional" later in the day, and will actually catch up with some of you.
*hugs and waves all around* Hey, how are you doing? :)

It makes sense because all Firaxis games feel like they've got board games hidden inside.
One of life's ABSOLUTE pleasures! The social aspect of face-to-face gaming - being able to see, hear and share the experience with others, is so much better than online multiplayer. Multiplayer can be really good, but being in the same room is best. I love the sound and apprehension of dice rattling across a game board as well :-)
Good times.

Hello! We're doing pretty well for the most part, though today our day started at about 3am, as unfortunately Sarge's day had started about then by getting sick. He's okay, just has a sensitive belly like his dad, and takes prevacid daily... sometimes if he doesn't eat enough before bed or if he sleeps too long, he'll wake up to being sick... This morning, it didn't wake me up right away, so I woke to find the lady already up and cleaning out his kennel, putting the bed cover in the wash and such... then she had to rush out the door to work.
Sarge seems to be feeling like his normal self again, and is trying really hard to convince me that tug-of-war is the ONLY THING THAT MATTERS today. ;)
I'm trying to think of something nice to make for dinner to try and make her night a bit easier when she gets home. Been playing this record while I work on cleaning the kitchen: Neutral Milk Hotel - "Ferris Wheel On Fire EP
I've been in a bit of a fog, not necessarily in a bad way at all, just a bit distant for some reason, having a bit of trouble focusing on and interacting with the world... I think that's why I haven't said much, I've realized I'm not certain at the moment how to ask people questions about their lives, as I'm so quickly and easily distracted lately and have trouble keeping my own thoughts straight. ;) it's a mind-cycle thing, I suppose... I'll be right as rain in no time and making a bit more sense. But only a bit. ;)
I hope you are well! Glad you got some kitchen cleaning done... I did a lot of that today as well... now that I've gotten a good bit of catch-up cleaning done, it's a lot easier to tackle the day-to-day. :)

Popcap also put some 'mild' DRM in the game, which will be removed as fully as possible when its uninstalled.
Half inch long flying ants sound like a 70s disaster movie. When they completely cover the windows head for the kitchen and climb inside the fridge. Wasn't The Swarm a great movie? It didn't do any of the cast's careers a jot of good, but its cringeworthiness is worth repeated viewings.
Thankfully they're staying outside. Would be drowning the place in bug spray otherwise. Haven't seen that one, but it sounds painful so I'll try to find it at some point.

People brought out the game on Friday night and before they knew it, it was Monday morning.
One time while playing the Illuminati card game I thought the sun was rising from the west.

And as for Sarge, if he's keen to play a game get him to look at this
It'll be a while until its available so he'll have to be content with pictures until then :-)

Although the first time I gotta admit it wasn't that bad. I just had a lot of problems back then... ok, ok, I spent too much time licking my own balls instead of paying attention.
I like to think I'm a bit more mature now.
That shows more faith than I had. Thanks.

A funny thing happened today. When I went to the library's coffe machine, I found myself surrounded by american accents. North-american ones. And I don't mean Mexico.
