CarrionCrow: Hmm. There's a thought. I'd like to think that if I went that route, I'd at least try to be fast so I could remember part of assaulting myself before the drugs kicked in.

You've got to tell your hand to stop doing that to you. Ingesting a lot of those drugs sounds fairly unhealthy in the long run.

That was last weekend for me.
Good moaning.

So yesterday I saw the TV ads for the martian and was kind of surprised of how very strongly it resonated with me. Anyway I decided to check out the book.

Boy am I glad I did.

It's a wonderful story, thrilling, full of humour and hard science with incredibly few artistic licenses. I actually have read it in one long uninterrupted sitting and loved it all.

And yet interestengly enough it felt slightly unpolished, the prose seemed to lack a certain style that I see in other professional writers. This felt a litte less secure in its storytelling method, more exploratory. Which oddly enough only managed to add to its charm, as if it were a piece of woodwork that had not been lacquered so that you could feel the grain when holding it.

Long story short, the book is a great read.

In other news I just got an email from the university telling me that I can go tomorrow to fill out the papers to matriculate.

It's great to hear about your enrollment at the university.
I'm happy for you. Good luck on this adventure!

Good very late evening/very early morning.

It's funny, you're not the first person I've seen describe that book in similar terms.

That's good. What are you planning on doing once you get re-enrolled?

I'm... a bit embarrassed to admit I didn't know this was a novel. I've been looking for something to read lately (I was hoping for a bit of obscure but readable, well sourced and decently non-biased history, but I could do some clever sci-fi). This could do the trick as I liked what I saw from the previews as well.
Happy nightning!
So... age of decadence is coming...
Crapfest or a must-buy :p ?
Got my interest with "turn-based" and "post-apocalyptic" :)
The new Nicole Dollanganger album drops tomorrow! Yeah! Been a while since I've been this excited about an album release, but gee golly gosh am I excited!
Morning!

*hugs and waves*
Good morning, everyone!

I hope you have been having a nice week? Did I miss anything fun?

*morning hugs and waves*

Hello, Tom Klinkerhoffen von Flockenstuffen!

Did I read correctly that it is your birthday on the 10th of October? Well, you kept that quiet. Anyway, on here we have a little birthday tradition going, where some of us buy a nice gift for a lovely regular of the thread. So, what I need from you is a list of your top 5 most wanted games on GOG, and a list of your top 5 cheapest most wanted games on GOG. That way there is hopefully something for everyone's price range. I look after the list and people check with me before getting a gift, that way we hopefully avoid any double gifting and you get some of your most wanted games. Sadly we don't have log, normally we have a week or so, but I will see what I can do in the two days remaining. So please get your lists done and send me a copy via chat, and also post it on the thread for the others to see.

And to any possible gifters: You should know the drill by now. But please check with me before you buy a gift from the list, just in case it is taken already. Thank you.
