FearfulSymmetry: I was actually thinking of going to the save folder of the game and copying your saves, as you said one of them worked at first but got corrupted later. In that case you could copy the original over the corrupted save and try again.
Eh, too late now haha. I just deleted my quick save and manual save and started from the autosave and am back where I need to be. After you open the vault doors you can head back to the cover immediately outside (where the goons were) and save and it's a-okay to save there. So the saves only get corrupted if you save directly in front of the vault doors. Weird.
Ixamyakxim: Awesome thank you I really appreciate this! Corrupted saves are a pet peeve of mine and I'm guessing your explanation above could be close to spot on for the reason. I'll try to avoid this situation when I get to the game! It was one I was SO excited for and I still haven't fired it up. Oddly enough I'm not even a "massive backlog" person so I can't even blame having 20 games to play.
I guess I'm just saving it for a rainy day when I'm ready to play a nice juicy turnbased and well done RPG and don't have one...
No problem! In a lot of ways it does seem to be a direct improvement over Returns (which I really enjoyed) so it's definitely worth your time. Basically just avoid saving directly in front of the vault doors and you should be okay!
