LeoLR: Hey all! Good *insert here your period of time*!

I hope everything is fine.
I'm feeling well here. Maybe I'm still under the effect of my encounter from yesterday. :-)

In other personal news: A new HD I bought arrived and now I can start a proper backup of my GOG library. Let's see if my connection and GOG's servers are up to the task.
Hello. I'm fine - glad to hear that you're doing well. What encounter are you referring to? :)
Godspeed for that! :)

ddickinson: I am not quite sure you are right there. I think you need to go back to Moomin school and learn about the birds and the bees. :-)

And no need to be sorry, as long as you are having fun be as strange as you like. :-)

*big hug*
You mean... "Sometimes, when a man and 55 women fall in love..." ? :-)

*big return hug*
...
We are now one minute from release time. I am predicting that we will see... Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza (same year and same engine as NOLF :-p)
avatar
ElTerprise: Just in case: The ARK is ready :P

On other news. Today's release will include some shootin'.....
I just guessed Nakatomi Plaza. Definitely has some shooting :-)
Maybe F.3.A.R., though I would not be excited to see that here.

ddickinson: Thank you. Not much relief for it at the moment, I just have to hope it fixes itself over time. I can eat a lot better than I was doing, but some things don't stay down too well yet, even on good days.

I am sure the bad parts of my day will take a back seat, they normally do when my partner gets home and I can spend more time with her. That always brightens my day.

*return hug*

You've clearly got a heart muscle that could be a star power-lifter yourself. :) I hope you are able to manage the pain as well as possible. It's amazing how therapeutic just having your partner nearby can be, even when you're too tired to interact. Just looking over and seeing the lady (or the pup!) and I feel instantly renewed, more able to forget all but the more beautiful parts of being alive. :)

Well F3AR would be nice to finish the series...is the Die Hard game any good?

And we're not: Today's release will be delayed...

Read about it here.
It was a nice surprise.
Are we sure that says 120min? To me it looks more like 120mm ;-) What are some games with 120mm cannons? :-D

I guess games that include the Leopard 2 or the M1A1 Abrams ;)

To be honest, I only played the demo. And it was not that good :-p I think it got pretty miserable reviews. It was definitely a low quality game, but I still had some fun for an hour with the demo and always wanted to try the full game.
It is a licensed game though, and those are always much harder to get re-released.
Actually, I'd say F.E.A.R. is a decent substitute for anyone looking for a Die Hard game :-)

First thing that jumps to my mind is CoD4. There were a couple missions where you had to escort a M1A1 Abrams that I found quite fun :-)

Hello! I read about your encounter, and it's something I've experienced a few times (but not enough to call it common.) When I lived in a loft in a business district downtown in the nearest big city, there were no other residences for a couple miles, but in the years I lived there I became quite familiar with the homeless men and women who slept in the nearby park. One of them regularly played saxophone on the corner with an overturned hat at his feet for tips from folks walking to and from all the various businesses and restaurants. The sax is likely my least favorite musical instrument, but he was the only person other than John Coltrane I've ever heard make it sound gorgeous and moving. I'd often just sit on the windowsill with the windows pushed open just so I could listen to him, or head downstairs to have some breakfast with him while he got ready to start his entertaining for the day, then just sit around and read while he played.

When I was in my teens, a friend and I were driving to the beach in my hometown and passed a group of elderly gentlemen gathered in a circle playing bagpipes. We stopped the car and walked up, asked if they would mind if we sat and listened. They were immediately skeptical, assuming we were there to make fun of them I guess, being kids and all, but what they were doing as a group was just incredible. And again, not one of my favorite musical instruments, but that almost seemed to make the experience more powerful and special. We spoke to the group afterwards, and one of them was actually in tears, moved by the fact that their music had earned them an appreciative audience, which I guess hadn't happened before. But they said they met there one Sunday each month just to get together and play, which I found to be just fantastic. :)

It truly is a surreal and wonderful experience, especially when it's so out of place and unexpected. A bit like living in a dream or a movie.

I see...a typical licensed game then....

But i guess it's not that likely that we'll get CoD4 here - especially without getting the old ones first ;)
Finally finished Escape From Butcher Bay: Assault On Dark Athena err...The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena. Good riddance! It wasn't a bad game but boy was I ready for it to be over. If they ever make a new Chronicles of Riddick game then I hope they swerve everybody and allow Riddick to escape in his first attempt!

Very much, yes.

Well, maybe it will be CoD1 then. Still fits with the "shooting" ;-) The first game (particularly its expansion) was one of my favourite shooters, and I'd love to see it here.
We haven't had a release from Activision in 3 years though :-(

Unfortunately many licensed games are of questionable quality...

That would be really interesting. Never played the original one. An yet you have an avatar from the opponent :P
It's a shame. Activision has many good old games ....

Edit: I jst realised that shooting could also refer to movies or sports ....
