The shadow's about half way across in the UK - coming in from around 11 o'clock. Its an amazing sight, looking at the underside of the earth on our nearest neighbour. It might be wishful thinking, but through binoculars the shadowed part is showing faint signs of redness... Bloodshot eyes, probably, but still it looks great.

Hi Stilton! Might be the same wishful thinking and binoculars, but I swear here the bright side looks like its showing a very bright, very yellow but thin halo.
Hi, Ixamyakxim ;-)

Nice to talk again, and what an occasion!

Full red now (a rusty colour). Its like looking at Mars. Wonderful.
I went. I saw, I took pictures, I got the hell bit out of me by mosquitoes.
My night is complete. :-)
A close view through the lenses and a couple of shooting stars add to the spectacle. I feel really lucky. This is my highlight of the year.

There's a gigantic mass of clouds outside, so visibility is nonexistent. So much for that. -laughs-
I've got the Daily Telegraph's web page open - they're doing live updates, and they said this:

03.10

Our correspondent in New York, Harriet Alexander reports:

In Manhattan, crowds are on the streets standing and staring at the sky.

I'm outside a Mexican cafe and the waiters have all poured out to look.

One man is explaining, in Spanish, the concept to his colleagues. Another is on the phone to his mother in Mexico: "Esta muy bonita," he said.

A 4x4 has just driven slowly past the crowds, with the driver winding down his window to yell: "Eclipse! Yeah!"

;-)

There's another hour + to go - hopefully the cloud will pass or at least open up for a while...

Maybe. I'll go check again in a bit.
Nearly 5am and I'm off to the land of nod, probably to have some kind of moon-themed dreams.

Hope everyone who wanted to got at least a glimpse of things.

'Night all ;-)

Good night. Have fun with hopefully non-horrifying, non blood-related dreams. =)
