Soccorro: Avira
But I've seen some comments that suggest Avira is doing nearly the same thing as AVG is planning to, do you know anything about that? How much information do they sell?
avatar
FearfulSymmetry: So, since AVG has decided to change their privacy policy I'm looking for a new antivirus. Does anyone here have any suggestions for one (preferably free or otherwise not too expensive)?
Well i use Avast Free in combination with an occasional manual scan with Malwayebytes Anti-Malware Free.
Can recommend that setup....but i must admit i haven't looked whether Avast is doing the same thing....

Yep, I already have Malwarebytes. Ugh, I hate this searching for a new AV, especially as I'm getting the impression right now none of them seem to be too concerned with privacy. I just don't really like the idea of them selling my information. :P But maybe I'm just overly concerned and I should just say what the hell.

Haha, fair enough. It just seems lame for me to uninstall AVG because I disagree with their privacy policy and then install another one that is possibly equally as bad. :P

But i must say that AVG has balls to be open about it because i'm pretty sure that most of the Free AV solutions do that...execpt for stuff like ClamAV i guess...

Well i wouldn't say so. Everyone should be concerned over privacy...
howdy!
I have been using F-Secure, a Finnish company supposedly good at all this anti-virus business... I get it almost free because I got it through my internet access provider... You don't have these kinda deals over there?
I think it costs 3 euros per month for me, and it sends zero advertising to me...
A kiss from Seven of Nine, now that's something. :D

Sorry, still watching Voyager. Totally fixed my whole day up.

I don't think so, but even if I did it's kind of out of my hands, as my landlord is responsible for the internet and I don't have much to do with it.

Sounds kind of appealing. :P

Oh, well that changes the situation. If it has an umbrella I simply must get it. :P

dammit! well...I'd go with Avira The Umbrella too, then, I guess....
Or find a site or a magazine that reviews cheap AV software...
Just looked at all my games, hundreds and hundreds of them, and what did I decide to play?

Winter Assault. Because I am apparently a massive fucking idiot at times.
persistence. persistence, gog forums. that's all I got to say.
