Yay, it's tech night.

Started looking to make sure my drivers were good enough for Grim Fandango, but ended up burning recovery discs instead.

The program tells me to shut off every other open program, but it doesn't even play crappy elevator music in an attempt to keep me from being bored into a coma.

Yeah, I'll be doing that as well, at least for stuff that isn't GOG games. I don't have 180 DVD's or an external hard drive handy to cover that part, but I think I've got enough to cover everything else that I really don't want to lose, so that's good.

Glad to hear you're not still packing some demon headache or have to sit around trying to look busy rather than actually being busy. Always hate having to do that. =)

That is true. But in my case that can not really happen. I have this stuff I work on and in ~2 years I need to have finished my project. How long I work on it every day does not really matter. Of course I should be in the office if some collegues or my boss wants to discuss something. But they only thing that really matters it that I get it done in that time :D So If there is nothing to do (which will probably not happen) I could just go home.

2 years? That's a seriously long-term project you've got going there.

Good to have that flexibility just in case you do run into that strange day where nothing at all is happening.

All in all it is a four years project. My PhD thesis :D I just need to make sure to present my results before time is over to a jury and write the thesis. Then everything will be fine :D

I am in electrical engineering and the subject of my thesis is researching a new topology for a direct current converter for solar energy generation :-)

Total honesty time - somewhere between 85 to 95 percent of that went right over my head. -laughs-

But from what I could discern, you're engaged in a noble pursuit, and I wish you well in it.
(You being a decent person as well doesn't hurt, either. =) )
