Realms of the Haunting is one of my all-time favourite games, and I think it might fit what you're looking for. It's not really "scary" so much as just filled with dark imagery, and has a heaven/hell theme to it. Maybe give that a look?

And this one I haven't played at all, but I know of Clive Barker's stuff so it might be a nice game... Clive Barker's Undying...
Um if you want to avoid any kind of gory bits how about Costume Quest? I think it actually is good although not very long.

Well, I still use steam if there's something I can't get here (or because I can't resist to buy humble bundles, but this has improved over the last months). But I'd definitely prefer to get games like Valkyria Chronicles, Ori and the Blind Forest or Valiant Hearts here.
Sorry to hear about that, but there's always hope. It took my wife six months to feel 'okayish' again after her prolapse in January, so I know how hard health issues can be. *big comforting hug*

Thank you. I am fine about it, things could be a lot worse. Granted if this gets worse that pretty much it, but at least that way the only other way is up, so there is that. I don't really let such things get to me too much. Things nearly turned out for the worst twice over those few months, so I am just glad that it did not.

I know you have mentioned them before but, I am sorry to hear about your wife having some very bad health problems. I am glad to feel she is feeling okayish at least. I hope she will be able to feel a lot better soon.

Excluding the usual I am doing very good today. I woke up to a pretty flower and a lovely note from my partner on the pillow, which was awesome. I do the same thing most days for her when I am at work. I leave very early and I normally go pick a pretty flower from the garden and leave her a little note on the pillow, and it's nice to be at the receiving end as she has been doing the same for me while I have been off ill. I know it sounds silly but I love the little silly things. :-)

I am glad to hear you are doing good, and that you are enjoying meals with your friends. Those poor frogs, there won't be any left in France at this rate. I guess it will be like the Scarlet Pimpernel, some English guy will have to sneak French frogs out of France before they are all devoured by Owl and her friends. :-)

You must be missing him terribly, but I am glad you will get him back on Friday. I am sure he will be happy to see his awesome mummy as much as you are to see him.
