moonshineshadow: Too bad, that the music did not work. So perhaps we can just continue talking perhaps it will help a little :-)
So why can't you get a refill earlier? I am curious since here I get a prescription which is valid for half a year and with that I can get new medicine whenever needed. And I am always making sure to get a new prescription before the six months are over.
I like talking.

I don't understand the whole medical system over here. Nobody does.
I used to be able to get a 6-month prescription in my hometown. Then I moved to this new shitty town.
For some mysterious reason, doctors in here will only write one-month prescriptions, and I have to make an appointment every month to get a refill request.
Also, my physician's instructions are to take 1-3 pills a day as needed, but she will only give me 30 pills. So taking it as instructed, it is possible to run out in 10 days.
Also, it is a controlled substance, which means that my insurance company (which will cut me off next month) won't let me refill my prescription until at least 24 days have passed since I originally picked it up.
On top of that, sometimes the pharmacy likes to throw in the term "calendar month." I still don't know what the fuck that means, but it screws things up big time.

Bottom line, I have no idea how the hell any of it works, but I usually get screwed every month when I need to refill my prescription.

EndreWhiteMane: Is your family there to support you through this? have you talked to them about it?
Yeah, they are around. I've talked to my mom about it, and she offered me some keks. But she needs to take care of my severely messed up dad. He needs constant supervision.

Good day everyone, especially to those struggling - hang in there Agent!

And best wishes to hummer010 on their son's fifth birthday! May junior see all his dreams come true! :-)

Too lazy to backtrack what happened while I was AFK, anyone up to giving me a summary?

ok, that sounds really messed up. And honestly your physician seems to have a math problem... How can she only give you 30 pills and than tell you to take 1-3... just wow... how stupid
I have to say for me it was really great to move to my current place (or more exactly to move to another country). Before my prescription was also a bit like yours. It was always only valid for getting the medicine once, so I ended up gettig a new one every month. Really annoying.
And about your insurance, will you be able to get a new one without a problem? I know that it can be kind of messy, I am also in the middle of finding a new one :-)

hummer010: It's hummer jr. fifth birthday today. Amazing what being a parent can do to time. The minutes can feel like hours, and the years feel like minutes.
All my complaining made me miss this. I'm so sorry!

That is awesome news!
Congrats, and congrats to hummer jr! I hope they have a great birthday! :-)

Morning HSL, I read through and didn't see anything 'earth shattering'. ;)

It isn't just my current physician. I have seen 4 doctors in this town, and they all do the same thing.
I'm trying to apply for an extension on my insurance, but that is not a sure thing. I'm also trying to apply for financial assistance, Medicaid, etc., but I've run into some trouble there because I have been told that I have a "treatable illness." I find that very insulting after 17 years of unsuccessful (and often painful) treatments.

CarrionCrow: Very nice. Decently produced board games can get downright pricey these days, so you've probably got a 30 to 50 dollar item right there. Congratulations. =)
avatar
Ragnarblackmane: Thanks:) I love Fantasy Flight, own several of their products already. I don't always have people to board game with lately but it's still a collector's item if nothing else!
Me too. My new policy is, "Buy two." (I can never afford it though :D) Because every time I buy a game from them, 10 years later, it's worth a few hundred dollars new in package. It's a pretty solid investment!

So, where do you live? We need to play this thing together! :D

I am not sure I understand. Does treatable illness not just mean that you have an illness that can be treated with medicine to make it better? Is it understood as "take some medicine and you will be cured"? That really sucks.

AgentBirdnest: I've had a headache every single day for 3 years. No doctor has been able to figure out what the problem is. (They don't care, either.)
I have been prescribed 5 or 6 different medications to try and relieve my headaches, but none of them have worked. This new medication is just the latest attempt to relieve it. It didn't work, and now the side effects are really messing me up.
Ok... I had constant headache (from dull aches to I-want-to-bang-my-head-against-the-wall ones) for a month when I was pregnant... I can't imagine this for 3 years !! :(
I've been told there are some specific clinics or hopital neurology services (just about headaches) where they help you to diagnose from which kind of headache you suffer, and find an effective treatment (which won't be the same from a person to another)... I hope you'll find your solution...

Do you feel better ?...

Seriously !!! ):-( indeed, your physician has a problem with maths.
Refill your prescription every month, besides, pff. That doesn't help to avoid stress... And your previous doctor is too far away from your new home ? (sometimes, even if you have long drive, it might be worth it to continue to see the "old" one once every 6 months ?...)

My anxiety medication has started working. I'm feeling a little less panic now. I still can't stop crying though.
Unfortunately, there are no special hospitals or clinics nearby. There is only one neurologist within 200 miles of me (and he is a total incompetent asshole.)
I would love to see my old doctor, but I don't have a way to get there. I live in a secluded town that is surrounded by 5 large deserts. There is no public transportation. It is a 3 hour drive to see my old doctor. Unfortunately, I can't drive, and I don't know anyone that can give me a ride. I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere for the foreseeable future.

I think that is exactly their policy. If there is a medication for an illness, then they classify that illness as treatable.
I don't know... I don't understand it either, and it has caused me some massive stress over the last few months.

Can anyone recommend as simple quick multiple clip clipboard for Win Vista and 7?
Somewhere to keep frequently used usernames, phrases, etc for quick access. I'm a horrible typist and I hate having to type the same things 100 times a day. ;)

Edit: Installed a little freeware one called CLCL, pretty handy.

Glad your anxiety medication works... Sad to read you're still crying... :( **Big HUG**
Boy, you really live in the middle of nowhere :-\
And... What about getting your driving license ?

I am scared to death of driving. Every time I tried to learn, I would just have a panic attack.
I just don't want to drive. It is too stressful for me. My grandma was the same way - she never drove in her entire life.

Not complaining - talking. There is a difference.

Thanks everyone for the birthday well wishes. It's pretty cool to see them grow up into little people. He's his own person now, with his own likes and dislikes. We had his birthday party last weekend, and he had his first real friend at it. He has lots of friends, but all of them previously were our friends kids - kind of forced friends. When we asked him who he wanted to invite to his party, he named a boy from pre-school - his first friend of his own choosing.

For me, driving is relaxing. If I'm feeling stressed out, one of my go-to's to relax is to go for a drive. Turn on some music and watch the scenery slide by. I do live in the middle of no where, though, with minimal traffic. If I stick to the backroads around my house, I can probably drive 20 miles and never see another car.
