If the coffee is cold brewed, I'll add it to just about anything. I'm not a fan of dairy for the most part, so I use soy milk as creamer when I sweeten coffee, or as a base when making smoothies. And strawberries go with just about anything. Or with nothing. They're quite perfect all by themselves. ;)

ddickinson: Good morning, peoples of the thread!

I am finally out of hospital. YAY! I actually got home on Tuesday, but I spend the last few days resting, cuddling up with my lady fair and enjoying being back home. So I have not been online until today.

How are you all on this lovely day? I hope you are all doing well, or at least as well as can be expected? Did I miss anything important while I was away?

I am off to go read through all my PMs. I will probably be a little slow in responding as I am still feeling like death warmed up (why do Americans say "death warmed over"? Do you warm over food in the US?). Thank you all for the lovely messages and the concern, you are all so very sweet.

Speak to you soon!

*big hugs*
Welcome back DD.

akhliber: Hello there! How are you doing today?
I'm a wee bit sick this morning, but that's common for the first week or so after having that procedure, and it feels like it's already passing, which is good news. :) Otherwise I'm feeling great, though. I got a new album in the post yesterday, and I've got that playing now... it's already a new favorite, and Sarge is sleeping happily while I finish my coffee. Certainly can't complain. :) I hope you are well!
I'm a bit more tired than usual (think i'm getting cold), otherwise I'm great, thanks :)
Good to read you're getting better !
A new album ? cool ! what kind of music is it ? i might be mistaken, but last time we talked about music, i think you said you also used to play and compose, didn't you ?
How is your little Sarge ? he must be an adult now ? :) (I can't remember which kind of dog he is)... :-|

Interesting... I should give that a try, sometime... õ__ô

Question : did someone try to play a "big" game with the minimal config ?
I'd like to know if my laptop can handle Witcher 3 or not...
I just noticed that my processor's frequency is lower ; so I assume it won't work ?... :-(

My config :
Processor : Intel® Core™ i5-4200M (2.5 GHz, 3.10 GHz in Turbo mode)
6 Go Ram DDR3
NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 760M 2Go

Witcher 3 minimal config :
Processor : Intel® Core™ i5-2500K (3.3 GHz)
6 Go Ram
NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 660

It's the new Destroyer album, "Poison Season." One of my favorite bands. I'm not familiar enough with the new album yet to link a favorite song or anything, but here's one of my old favorites:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvtUWtUOtZE (Destroyer: "The Very Modern Dance")

As for me and music, it's more accurate to say I "made sounds with instruments." It was fun, just definitely wasn't something I had a talent for. ;)
Sarge just turned 5 months old a couple days ago! It seems like he should be so much older, and at the same time it's hard to believe that much time has passed. He's doing great! We're about to go bask in the yard a while, as that seems to be all he wants to do today. He's feeling as lazy as I am, only he wants to be lazy in the sun, and I want to do it here in this air conditioned and dark room. :)
I hope you can get some good rest soon!

Try this website and see what it says:

I think it would work OK if you turn a few quality settings down.
BUT
It's very expensive if it doesn't work and GOG really wouldn't be required to give you support or a refund. :/
There is a note in the specs that says: "Please mind that we only officially support full-size desktop graphics cards." So your laptop doesn't qualify on two counts.

You seem to get along pretty well... 2 lazy budies... ! ;-p
Yes, I should be able to take some rest in... a little more than 1 hour :D woohoo !

superstande: And welcome back Hyper!
:p sorry I couldn't resist :)
But I at least haven't seen your writings here in a while..
And most of the other threads are too scary for me ;)
When not being quite my usual self, I tend to withdraw, I've only recently started visiting and participating in the community again.

But today is DD's Day (not to be confused with D-Day), she had a very rough time, and it's more than good to see her back on her feet again, even if they're still a bit trembling. :-)
Another release today (Settlers), one more good day for GOG. ;)

Thanks for the info and advice, Endre ! **big thank you hug**
I'll test your link when I get back home too...
only full size desktop graphics cards ?... >:-| ... that's racist !!! peuh !!!
I think I won't buy it then... I wouldn't want to waste 40 euros for nothing... or I'll wait a bigger discount, let's say, 20 euros, and I'll buy it !... :-p (I understand they don't refund if you don't read carefully the requirements etc, but... it's not always very clear to me... :-| ... and I understand even better when it's about such expensive games... there must be much traffic with those, having them DRM free must be quite a big deal...) :-\ **sigh**... too bad for me. I only have my computer for 16 months, and it's already "has been"...

Well said :) And the withdrawal is definitely something I can relate to, but I must say it's good to see you around on the forums!

I can't really say for your machine. Could become a bumpy ride.

My CPU is also (a little) below specs: AMD Phenom 2 X4 3.2GHz, but I have a GTX970 and 16 GB RAM.
In my case the game can get a little slow in some areas (like the big city of Novigrad). There I have 15-20 fps. In the wilderness I have 30-50, depending on how much action there is around (monsters, wolves hunting deer, nearby village with NPCs...).

Also, sound stutters when the game slows down a lot.

The slowdowns are clearly the CPU's fault. I can crank up most graphics option to "high" and it won't get any more slower. Only the "Number of background characters" I need to keep on "medium" since those are CPU controlled.

I'm still hoping for the old Settlers 1. What's the issue with that game? Why is it not here?

It sounds risky, indeed... if it doesn't work smoothly with yours, which is even closer to the minimal spec... 3.2 instead of 3.3 GHz... :-\ I don't have any chance !
I saw the minimal recommanded processor had 4 cores, mine has only 2... half memory... I'm screwed :'-|
I won't bee able to play this game until I buy a new computer, which is... not before at least 5 years from now ! :-\
