wait, what is going on in here? Do i need to get the shirt?

HypersomniacLive: IIRC, I only gifted you one game, and that was during the Winter Sale. And you made all sorts of threads against me, just like you did now, so I wouldn't exactly call that graciously. But we've had this discussion before.

And it's not an excuse; trentonlf may be a gifting addict, but he has been very accepting from the beginning.
You see, that's where you are mistaken. I have been accepting the occasional gift for a long time. Ever since I started on the forum in fact. The fact I do not enter many giveaways or have a public wiki does not mean I am not open to accepting gifts.

avatar
HypersomniacLive: Now here's something interesting. Part of the reason? I'm more interested in the rest of the reason, he part you're not disclosing. I knew there's more behind this! ;-P
What the hell is this, the Mafia thread? I never knew I had to be so careful with my wording on every thread. :-)

But okay, let's try to give you the other reason. The biggest reason is what I previously stated earlier (I have enough games and I would prefer the gifts go to others), the other reason would be that I am not too accustomed to getting gifts off people online, or in real life for that matter. I am the kind of person who prefers to earn what I have/get, rather than just get it for free (gifted).

Are you not a fan of Moby Dick? I didn't mind it. It's not the best book ever, but I thought it was a lot better than the stuff Mark Twain produced.

EndreWhiteMane: Since you folks have been fighting with Firefox may I ask if you determined what the current version is?
I have a friend with a FF issue that I need to fix and I don't use it. Thanks.

HypersomniacLive: Perhaps we could help?
Thanks but all done, just an ornery flash player. Had 3 versions installed and enabled, killed 'em all and reinstalled, voila. ;-)

You need to stay alert, the game's not over yet, and you're slipping again with that last sentence of your comment ;-P

So, it never crossed your mind that someone wanting to gift you a game may actually feel that you've earned it in some way? Like perhaps for being a good friend to them? Or perhaps for acting in a thoughtful or helpful way, and they'd like to express their appreciation?

0.o you...don't...like..twain? great, now we can't be friends! ;)

melville? please. it took him twenty freakin' pages to describe the ocean. ugggghhhh. although I think I did enjoy Benito Cereno.

HypersomniacLive: This kind of sounds like you've been and are open to gifts from certain persons only... ;-)
Not at all. It's just that as I don't have a public wishlist, only people I talk to have any chance of knowing games to gift me. But regardless of who I accept them from, I have been open to gifts from the beginning.

I am well aware of the reasons people may want to gift games, I'm the same. But you see, it's kind of a vicious circle, if I get a game, I feel bad (not sure why) and feel that it could have been put to better use with someone else, someone who needs a game to cheer them up, or because they are not able to get a game themselves, or just because of the reasons you mentioned above.

I will admit it had a very slow pace and was not the best book ever, but I didn't mind it. It's better than a lot of books written today.

We can't be friend anymore? No more slumber parties? :-(

Okay... I understand.

Yay, it's project time. Rip something, download 3 other things, then burn, label and store 30 plus discs.

Good thing they're not DVD's, otherwise I'd be doing it all night.

Additional - going to take a moment to say how thankful I am for the internet.

Scoping out my next round of torture, and without the internet, I wouldn't have known that there's more than one way to get completely screwed by the game, to the point that I'd have to start over from square one if I didn't do some very particular things.

Is this still Super Meat Boy or a different round of torture?

-laughs- Probably not the best of signs when I have to differentiate between ways I'm trying to drive myself insane, is it?

I'm referring to something else, a bit of old business from 20 years ago called the 7th Saga, a Super Nintendo RPG that's pretty much broken on every level, up to and including the whole "if you do this wrong and get unlucky, you will never be able to beat the game" thing.

Super Meat Boy hasn't been too bad, comparatively. Finished off the first 40 levels a bit ago, only missing one bonus item and the first stage is fully complete.

Looks pretty cool for its age. When I can afford it I want to get the Sega RPG collection from dotemu, they look both hard and fun. Never had a console before and never will but I'd like to try some of the old games.
