LaPtiteBete: Hello again too :D
Hello Owl *big hug* :D

How are you doing? Were you lucky yesterday and your basement wasn't flooded?
Moaning and despair people, how are you doing?
Me, I am thoroughly and utterly fucked.
Let me explain why.
I grabbed the car this morning and drove around a little. After a while I noticed that it wasn't going very smoothly so I stopped and took a look at the outside.
Imagine my anguished surprise when I saw one of the tires completely flat. Further examination revealed a nail stuck in it. What's more, after I took it off I noticed that the inside was cracked and utterly torn. The tire was ruined.
So now I'm at the car shop waiting for a new pair of back tires which is gonna hit me like more than a hundred bucks, and I mean that literally.

On the plus side I found a cheap handle for back door which was broken at a nearby junkyard, and the tires were already a few years old, and not too far away from retirement.

I have to look at the bright side, otherwise it's all Oy Vey!

And finally, what's a few more bucks when I'm already this screwed?
Imma getting fallout.
Hello and Good morning/afternoon/evening!

Fran Bow has been released and I have to admit, I'm kinda saddened that GOG has buried it under the Bethesda releases and some of the other new releases. It's the fifth game in the "new release" slider despite being released yesterday, and of course the Bethesda games (somewhat understandably) are getting top billing on the front page.

I'll pick it up in a bit, it's a game I've been following for over a year.

GreenDamsel: Usually you find me in the Action-Adventure, RPG or Strategy section of things.
At the moment I'm playing HOMM V, Spellforce 2, Sacred, Prince of Persia WW, Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb and Hearts of Iron 3.
Or when I play with friends I go with CSGO and DotA 2.
But at the moment I am way too busy playing boardgames or DnD.
Pen and paper DnD? I have a DSA party...

Otherwise our tastes don't seem to overlap a lot. I'm too dumb for HoMM (though I like 2+3) and too clumsy for PoP, the other games are not my cup of tea ;-)

Sorry to hear about your car troubles. I don't have a car, but I know from people who do that it can be expensive - repair bills easily pile up.

Have fun with Fallout!

Good afternoon. Doing good here.
Uh...that sounds highly annoying....

I didn't know that you speak Yiddish though ;)

superstande: I was thinking of Quake...is it more of an action shooter or is it scary, 'boo!' sort of game too?
Never played it, just the first Doom on playstation very long time ago, and enjoyed the Doom's scary bits the most...
avatar
toxicTom: It's basically a very fast action game, but you can play it any pace you want. It has a few "boo!" scares strewn in. It's a little like the original Doom, but darker, less colourful. And there are no mass-battles, you rarely encounter more than 4 monsters at once. And it's a real 3D world, some levels have quite some verticality.
Ah, okay! Thanks for clearing this for me :)
So, no mass-battles is a plus, darkness is a plus :) "boo!" scares are a plus :)

Yes PnP. Had an ex who was into DSA. Never got around to try it. Is it good? Aside DnD I've only played Shadowrun.
What games do you like to play? All the ones I don't like?^^

j0ekerr: *snip snip*
sorry to hear. sounds like the tires were old and that was something that was eventually going to happen in the future anyhow. and you got a door handle. fallouts 1 and 2 are awesome games, lots of dark laughs too.
The first Gothic is on sale AGAIN?!, that's twice this year! I don't remember it going on sale at all in the last several years. Maybe I need to go ahead and pick it...

Jeez, that's shitty. I sympathize, a couple things broke on our car a few weeks ago (the day we went on holidays, weeeee \o/) and we had to pay nearly 400 euros to fix it partially (entirely would have been... 1,000 euros)... +__+

DSA is... different. More detailed in way (life-simulating), but also often awkward or clumsy to handle. Combat can take forever...
We play DSA3 with a lot of custom rules and kind of an "alternate history" scenario. And it's DSA because +20 years ago I stumbled into a DSA group and bought a few rulebooks (every member did). And I just stayed with the system. It doesn't hinder us much as be prefer a slow pace, driven by storytelling and dialogue. There have been nights when we didn't use the dice at all. And an evening without any fighting is not rare.

As for the games:
Currently I'm totally tied up by The Witcher 3. I love all the Witcher games, but this one really hits the spot. I also loved the TES games (with mods) or Fallout 3. SP shooters (Doom, Quake, FEAR), or Action/RPG/Adventure mixtures (Deus Ex, Bioshock, STALKER) are also a thing. Or 4X games like Master of Magic or Master of Orion 2. I used to love simulators like Total Air War or IL-2 Shturmovik, but I don't have the time or patience to learn the controls anymore.

Good afternoon, N2T3 :)
Would you please tell us if the game worth its price, once you'll have bought and played it ?
I keep an interested eye on this one too... :)
