FearfulSymmetry: Well, one of those lovely people living there was actually convinced the building was haunted, so who knows ... xD
avatar
CarrionCrow: That's good at least. Beats being hot and uncomfortable with no payoff.

I've seen the type. 30 to 60 year old children. It's pretty pathetic.
avatar
FearfulSymmetry: Yeah, the airconditioning in my car is broken. Still, I have a car. Which is pretty awesome. :P

Yep. You would not believe how big of a deal they made out of this Facebook debacle. >.>
That's when you tell them that they're absolutely right, that the place is haunted by the ghosts of all the suicide victims who killed themselves to get out of the forced social gatherings.

Sadly, I could totally believe it. Spent an embarrassingly long time in the midst of people that deranged, with lives that hollow.
avatar
Crewdroog: I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. But yeah, not being allowed to see the apt is a HUGE screaming red flag. No way and no how would I even consider taking a place unseen.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Not allowed to see the apartment beforehand = blood on the floor that won't come out and unpatched bullet holes.
omg i have a story for that!

So i was driving back from Florida to NY with my friend. We couldn't go any further so stopped at this sketchy motel. So tired, didn't care. She goes to get the bags and I go to inspect the room. NY has some bed bug problems, so my first instinct was to check for that. I pull up the crap mattress and find blood splatter EVERYWHERE. not like a girl had an accident or something, no, it looked like spray pattern from someone getting bludgeoned by a baseball bat. I was immediately like, NOPE!!!" and we got the hell out of there. Ah, murder mattresses. good times.

You're actually making me laugh about all this, thanks for that. :P

Yep, they were all super frightened about this one closet that the building corporation locked off, and one girl was convinced someone knocked on her bedroom door in the middle of the night. My friend's sensible argument that the building was old and noisy was shot down pretty quickly.
Since I missed out some sleep last night hopefully I can fall asleep earlier tonight *good night hugs and waves*

eeeeee, i wouldn't trust a document from them, there could be a loophole where they have you regardless.

Not getting a kitty is sad, i know, but eventually you will i am sure :)

I am doing pretty good, tired, but good. how are you?

Oh wow, can't say I've ever encountered anything like that, fortunately. I would have done the same thing and left immediately as well.

Well, the building corporation is pretty well-established and has a good reputation, so there's that, but I still want to see the place before I agree to anything.

Yep, I will! In the meantime I'll cuddle my mom's evil old cat when I come over. (And the friend I visited tonight has a BEAUTIFUL Maine Coon cat. So gorgeous. The little devil wrecked the apartment while we were gone tonight, though. :P)

Good to hear! I'm doing pretty well. I had a bit of a headache when I returned from my adventure but that's settling now. I'm torn between playing Shadowrun Hong Kong for a bit and going to bed. :P

May you never be so tired that you look at the murder mattress and say "Fuck it, I'm sleeping here anyway." =)

the thing that got me, is that they were totally unfazed by it. I kept telling them, "there is blood all over the mattress", and they were like, "meh, yeah, whatever". 0.o

FearfulSymmetry: Hi! How are you doing? *hug*

Yeah, my friend who lives there hates them as well, but apparently she just plasters on a smile and sits through it for a few hours. The entire time I was there to supposedly get introduced they were mostly just arguing about the way the building was run currently. That, and petty arguments. The fact that the evening started with a discussion about a fight they had on Facebook was already a pretty big no to me. :P
Doing good - what about you?

Well honestly i couldn't do that....but that sounds really bad...

CarrionCrow: Microsoft is what people are generally stuck with since they managed to get their claws into the market and squeeze for a long time. It'll take a while for the playing field to be even.

Started playing the first, but never got into it. And since it's a running story, I wasn't going to jump into later entries.
Good thing for your wallet at least. If you were into the series, you'd be shelling out coin for three or four more games in the near future.
Yes that's true. But the Internet certainly makes it easier for GNU/Linux etc...
Yes. That's a problem. But Black Flag is somewhat stand-alone in terms of its present time storyline and the past time story lines were always not entirely follow-ups to the previous game (aside from the Ezio Trilogy of course)

Apparently that happened to them all the time, then. o.o

That's good. Better to laugh about crazy when you can. Otherwise it's just a combo of depressing and migraine-inducing.

I must not be a good person, since my thought would be to mess with that person endlessly. Tell them that rotten meat hung over their bedroom door keeps ghosts away, shit like that, just to see how far they were willing to go with it.

I'm doing good as well. I'm starting my master's degree in a week's time so I'm making some preparations for that. :)

Yeah, given that I had a pretty major headache when I returned home tonight, I'm glad I escaped that as well. I'm sure I'll find a nice apartment eventually. :)

toxicTom: Good night everybody!

*Tight hugs and totally silly waves*

Tomorrow the "serious side of life" is gonna take over again - school holidays' finished - big one is second grade. My wife is in for a last week of work (with an awesomely stupid schedule) and will then be unemployed...
And I'm trying to be at work early to catch up at a few thing before my boss notices...

Love y'all!
Good night and sleep well *big good night hugs* :)
