penumbren: If only it were up to me, she'd've been out on her ass after the first time she disappeared with no word for almost a week only to call up Dad begging for rides. -.-
gunsynd: Time to change minority to majority:-) CarrionCrow: And to think, some people wonder why video games are so popular.
Easy answer - you can shoot someone in those, no one gets hurt, and you don't have to experience the downside of getting to scream, "Fuck you all, it was totally worth it!" in between idly wondering if your orange jumpsuit will make you look poorly as you do your perp walk on CNN.
I'm sorry you're having to deal with some selfish, inconsiderate, immature, manipulative parasite.
Hah! Yes, I think my grandparents, who raised me, were worried for a while when, in high school, I discovered that coming home and killing Nazis or demons in Wolf3D or Doom (respectively) was an immense stress relief. Also, thank you for the laugh at that explanation. It's perfect. (As is your description of the roommate, but I'm trying to let that irritation die down again now.)
AgentBirdnest: RoTT with the "Ludicrous Gibs" cheat is nice.
Bulletstorm is great, if you don't mind GFWL. Kicking people into walls made of spikes is so satisfying :-)
Hm. I don't have RoTT or Bulletstorm, although RoTT looks like it could be fun and walls of spikes sound amazing. I'll have to take a look. Bulletstorm is great, if you don't mind GFWL. Kicking people into walls made of spikes is so satisfying :-)
I ended up blasting the Megadeth Pandora station (which nicely includes Motorhead, Sabbath, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, and many other bands I approve of while in this sort of mood) and playing Borderlands, since that was an FPS I already had installed.
HypersomniacLive: Ouch, ouch, ouch! So sorry about having to live with such an inconsiderate person. Isn't there any way to get her out of the house?
Unfortunately not. My father-in-law likes her (and, we suspect but aren't sure of, likes her), mainly because she's all sweet and helpful as long as he's looking, or at least enough like it that we all just look like assholes if we don't take it that way. She was also here when he broke his hip last summer and really helped him out at that point, which I appreciate - but not enough to appreciate the current crap she's pulling. I honesty would not be surprised to find drugs involved (and I'm not talking the inoffensive stuff like pot), but it's not something we can prove or indeed even point at much beyond behavior - which, again, he doesn't really see in the same way. He's lonely, and he's not used to having genuinely loving and helpful family around, so... *sigh* On a somewhat different note, the first Borderlands game is actually proving harder for me to get used to after playing (some of) Borderlands 2; the controls/play aren't very different, but it's different enough that I have to take it in small bits. As much as I love the art and the humor, there are only so many "look at the swarm of 15 skags that are killing you when they weren't there two seconds ago!" moments that I can handle before getting frustrated. B2 has some of that, too, but it definitely improved the "enemies appearing out of nowhere behind you immediately after you turn around from looking for them" stuff.

Ah, yes... Willem Dafoe in "Platoon" or do I have that wrong? ;)

Borderlands was actually going to be my third suggestion. Great choice to relieve stress and frustration. I am the exact opposite with Borderlands 1 and 2. The controls are pretty much the same, there is just... something slightly different that I can't explain. I always found B2 to be a bit harder.

You're one lucky user, I have the same issues on that browser too.
CarrionCrow: On Firefox here as well. Noticing that at the top of the page, it has the log in or sign up options showing, like I'm showing as signed in for one component but not for another.
Aside from that, there's definite overall lag loading the page, but that's typical.

penumbren: The majority agrees, but sadly, the father-in-law sees things differently and he is the deciding voice. *sigh* I only hope that his opinion doesn't end up changing through traumatic circumstances.

Hmm, that's a tough situation. Sadly, all we can do is listen whenever you need to vent. :/[...]

CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)
Yes, it's been pretty active today. Great for company, but not so much if you're trying to play catch-up, though.
How was your day?
LaPtiteBete: What does "play catch-up" mean ?... :"| Yes, it's been pretty active today. Great for company, but not so much if you're trying to play catch-up, though.

It was cool, thanks !!
CarrionCrow: You might want to recheck that Bulletstorm still works. Reading a bunch of reviews saying how GFWL's death has made it pretty much unplayable at the moment.
AgentBirdnest: Just checked, works fine. GFWL didn't die. The supposed shutdown date came and went without anything happening, as far as I know. Have it for the 360, but the frigging thing keeps overheating.

AgentBirdnest: Borderlands was actually going to be my third suggestion. Great choice to relieve stress and frustration.
I am the exact opposite with Borderlands 1 and 2. The controls are pretty much the same, there is just... something slightly different that I can't explain. I always found B2 to be a bit harder.
penumbren: I'm not sure how to describe it, either. I played B2 first, if only for a little bit, so I'm sure that's part of it. The controls feel a little... stiffer, maybe? in B1. Also, I miss the minimap. I'm really good at doing mental maps of areas/dungeons/whatever, but first person POV + only a compass just makes it far more difficult for me to do, for some reason. I am the exact opposite with Borderlands 1 and 2. The controls are pretty much the same, there is just... something slightly different that I can't explain. I always found B2 to be a bit harder.
The mini-map indicators for Borderlands 1 were full of shit at times, to put it bluntly. Remembering all the "find the 4 parts for weapon whatever" missions where the mini-map would say that pieces were in places that they weren't. Ended up using it as nothing more than a general marker.
Also, you're quite welcome. Can't do much, but if I can make someone laugh even when they kinda want to strangle someone, I'll take it. =)

CarrionCrow: That's good to hear. Thanks for the info, I now have an alternative if my console ends up being broken. Have it for the 360, but the frigging thing keeps overheating.
EDIT: This seems correct. Only the store part was closed. I found a old news (is this a thing? :-P) about it.

Everything else is bad enough, but no game access at all? Definitely the worst.
