HypersomniacLive: Nice weekend promo, quite refreshing and very welcome with all the Star Wars (read: non-adventures) releases. Is anyone getting anything or is everyone overspent already?
I love this thread, but seriously, for someone with an internet connection only at work, it is even harder to keep up with than the mafia threads! :)

i.e. this post was already buried pages back.

Good question though. I'm glad this promo is providing some relief to those overwhelmed by all the space combat. My answer: both! Overspent, but I only lacked 2 and their $1.99 price tags were just staring at me. Grabbed. And they look awful. Simon 3d & Personal Nightmare. :)

EndreWhiteMane: Thanks, I'm sure we'll get it figured out. To tell the truth feeling crappy is something I'm getting used.
The person that came up with the line "You're not getting older you're getting better" should die a slow painful death. ;)
Ah well, I just refer to it as the "Tarnished Years". :-)

CarrionCrow: Yeah, that's a pretty bullshit statement.
Like pretty much everything else you can think of, it's got pros and cons.

If it's any consolation, from what I've seen you say, you've got a better general mindset than I do, and you've got a few years on me.
The ability to maintain that over time is admirable.
Spent about 30 years hating everything, everywhere, and everyone. This was a hard change but I like it a LOT better.
This is the new, old, me. :-)

Hate is bad for the digestion...

and it can give you crinkly wrinkles. :P

Perhaps, try moderation,
it might help tone things down
to dislikes and annoyances.

I can honestly say I don't hate anyone anymore, there are a LOT I don't understand and disagree with, but not hate.
No more resentments for me either, I don't like other people living in my head without paying rent. :-)

ddickinson: I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking. I should have left all that talk out of it, sorry. *big I'm sorry hug?*

[...]
No need to apologise, really; I only wanted to make clear that I'm staying out of that discussion due to being emotionally charged these days and not because I don't understand or care.

CarrionCrow: You can have the "Best of GOG" gift package, including such timeless gems as Fahrenheit, Daikatana, Iron Storm, Phantasmagoria 2, Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude, Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death, and last but certainly not least, Hatoful Boyfriend!
You left out her all time favourite - Fist Puncher.

What a devilish coincidence, those are the only ones I'm missing!

What setting are you using for posts/ page?

Those were two of the ones I was missing, too, along with The Feeble Files and A Golden Wake. I figure $10 for four games that I'll actually play is better than $10 for a flight sim that it's nearly certain I won't touch. ;)

After reading about Personal Nightmare, however, I suspect I'll end up playing that one with a walkthrough open the entire time. >.< (Maybe if enough people buy Horrorsoft's terrible stuff, we'll convince someone to try to sort out the rights for their Elvira games..... I think I still have them both on 5.25" disks somewhere in a box. Which of course does me no good whatsoever anymore.)

Indubitably, ‘tis challenge enough being ourselves through our own eyes,
rather than being overly concerned about how others might see us.

Getting older helps put things into perspective,
especially if you can keep the wonder and curiosity
of the child we were (and still are) alive,
then you can avoid getting bitter
and come into your wisdom. ;)
Must resist downloading Arcanum again.
I finished it 5 times,I need to clear my backlog, can't go back.

If only we could attach a bulletin board or bookmarking system to the thread...
It'd probably be helpful for a few days before that went nuts as well. -laughs-

I haven't yet tried Feeble, which my awesome secret santa got me (with a bunch of others), but it looks good to me. I merely started Golden Wake, but I think I'm going to like it as well.

ddickinson: I hope things turn out okay. It must be so hard, but I really hope things will work out for you. *hug*
Thanks for the well-wishes! Truth be told, I think we're both just ready for it to be done, either way. We've been working on having / acquiring kids for 10 years now, and we've only hit the jackpot once. That's a decade of life-on-hold. We're both ready to move on.

Yeah...not going to attempt to speak for anyone else, but in my experience it does a hell of a job eating you alive and killing a lot of positives in the process.

Wise words, the wonder and curiosity are something I'm lacking in. Seem to not be very interested in things like I used to be.
I think my health plays a large part in this so it's where I'm putting my efforts now. If I felt better I'm sure my desire to do things would increase 100 fold.
