BillyMaysFan59: I don't think the HD version is all that "new". It's been around for 2 years at least. (in alpha and beta stages, it's still in beta)

Also, you should download UQM and play it, it's awesome. Even if you don't play the main game, Super Melee (Spacewar-like ship to ship combat with bizarre alien starships) is quite fun. But hard :p

ddickinson: That depends on your definition of new :-). I played a bit of the Space Marine game and I consider that a new game, despite it been released 2011. I am not too up on newer games, so many not-so-new games are new to me. Pretty much anything after 2010 I think of as new.

To be honest I have never even heard of the games before. But I will take a look once I am in the mood for gaming some more.
Of course UQM itself has been around for years. It's based on the source code for the 3DO port of the classic Star Control 2, which was made open in the early 2000's, I think. Ever since, the community has developed The Ur Quan Masters, basing it on the 3DO source. The original UQM just uses the original graphics, however they can be made to look smoother with a variety of scalers. UQM HD has new, higher resolution graphics, hires and visuals. That's what I'm playing right now.
WTF the next page of this thread got eaten again!

BillyMaysFan59: Last night I've been playing UQM HD. Nice new graphics, nice game. Those Slylandro probes are still very annoying though.

(For those who don't know, UQM [The Ur Quan Masters] is a freeware port of the classic game Star Control 2. I'm playing the "High Definition" version, so that I can have nicer graphics and visuals =)
Ur-Quan masters. One of the first games I got in mine olde GP2X.

Never played it much though. I was busy with every Megadrive game I hadn't played before. And some SNES ones too.

ddickinson: It doesn't help when some countries in the EU use the wrong time zone just to follow the crowd. But many places do that, if you ever look at a timezone map you will see many places using timezones other than the logical one for them.

So would you say the game is worth the asking price?

I am hoping my head is just due to me oversleeping. I am sleeping so much and I think it's getting me overtired, even though I can't help it due to the medication. I slept for about 12 hours last night, which is definitely not normal for me.
If you would call yourself a fan or enthusiast of action-RPG's, I'd say that you'd get your money's worth.

But, if you're not into playing games on hard mode, not into doing every optional challenge and don't like the idea of grinding for levels to help beat those optional challenges, you could probably live with waiting for it to hit its first price drop, at least.

Your brain and body are in upheaval at the moment. It's appropriate to feel all screwed up and loopy.

I will make a note of it and give it a look later.

The thread loves to eat the next page. I guess it's all the tasty topics we talk about. :-)

So probably not a game for me. :-)

I think I would not be so bothered if I was not showing signs similar to when I collapsed the first time few weeks ago. Hopefully it's just a bad few days and not anything more serious.
Ok, this is ridiculous!

3 days, and three consecutive catastrophic freezes which requre a hard reset, in the first 10~15 minutes of operation. After which, I reboot and the machine works perfectly fine.

I have no idea what's happening other than maybe these are the first symptons and very soon it'll start coughing blood.

Oh btw, I've decided on this one. It's dual boot capable although most people seem unimpressed with W8.

Sounds like you and your wife want to get hugged by the Blob again.

Win10?^^

I would much rather just hug my wife on my own. :-)

Besides, you should be busy hugging your girlfriend. :-)

No, 7, I think it's hardware related, not software.

Let's see if I don't break her again.
Aloha all, I'm doing fair to partly cloudy today. Hope everyone is OK+ and having a good day.

Except DD who I can only offer a *get well very soon American bearhug* :/
Someday please share more of what's going on with you so we can make all kinds of medically un-informed suggestions on how to get better. ;)

Woke up to a weekend sale and panicked, I have a Dr appt tomorrow and thought I had missed it. :-)
Anyone ever play Firestarter? Looks good but the reviews aren't so hot.

Keep a phone nearby at all times, and if it gets worse, call the doctor. If you're feeling really badly and it's worrying you, call the doctor now.

You should learn to be more gentle. :-)

Hello, Endre. Thank you for the hug. :-)

If I shared more of what is going on people would just worry, and I would not want that. Although it could be fun seeing all the un-informed suggestions. :-)

Did you see anything from the sale that catches your eye? Judging by a comment on the release thread, I think BMF has played Firestarter.

Morning Endre.

Usually that sort of thing would have also made me think I'd lost a day, but today I had an absolute ironclad conviction that it was Thursday.

By the way, Remember that post about mammary glands on dinosaurs?

Enjoy.

Thank you for your concern, but it's not quite that bad yet. I do have my phone nearby, and my partner calls all the time to check on me. I don't think it is anything serious, just the body adjusting to things after the big shock it had. I am seeing my specialist tomorrow, so I will talk more about it with her then.

But thank you for being so sweet and concerned. I do appreciate it.

*big thank you hug*
