justanoldgamer: Share the misery, what's the bubble bobble song?

Crewdroog: this link comes with a huge freaking warning. click at your own risk to loss of sanity. if you ever played this NES game, don't click, it will bring it all flooding back. it's been stuck in my head for more than a day cause I watched the completionist's video on this. grrrr

I clicked... can't say it's sticking in my head. I don't think I ever played it on NES though.

adaliabooks: Where's the fun in that? :P
avatar
tinyE: Well from time to time I like to try to provide myself with the illusion that I have some self control. :P
Self control is over rated...

Thank you for the trip down the memory lane! I remember playing this on arcade as a kid.
I never got very far on it.

The arcade version for comparison.

Okay, back from running errands, and dear gods do I ever love doing those. Truly.

Hopefully everyone's been having a decent day at the very least.

Just got through listening to Crewdroog's chunk of 8-bit musical goodness, and now it's back to Carpenter Brut.

Can't remember the last time I really wanted to buy some music, but I am totally going to buy everything they've ever put out, especially since it's really cheap.

adaliabooks: Very quiet in here tonight. Everyone too busy playing Star Wars games? ;)
Still trudging through my own self-inflicted hell at the moment, but it was actually funny. A roommate has Empire at War and I was mentioning to them last evening how it's too bad that their physical copy doesn't include the criminal expansion.
Was very much pleasantly surprised to see Empire at War on GOG, and it's the one with the expansion included.
I'll finally get a chance to beat that game on all three campaigns. =)

That's the beauty of buying from a site where I can actually trust in the support crew.

I check the gamecard, buy it regardless since I apparently have impulse control problems when it comes to GOG, then download it immediately.

For a shitty store, my having downloaded it would put me squarely into "let the buyer beware, you're on your own" territory.

But since it's GOG, I know that if something comes up, they'll do their best to help whether it's one day, one month or one year after purchase.
What are your favourite game from the FMV era?
I'm in doubt between Wing Commander IV or Tex Murphy:Under a Killing Moon.

One year,that's a bit long isn't it?

I would have a bigger impulse control problem if they'd release any non-Star Wars LA games. >.< They did make a few, right? I've heard rumors....

Wouldn't say I'd be at the top of the support ticket list by any means, but I think they'd still do whatever they could to help.

I still wouldn't call it catchy.. but it's certainly funny.

Does want to make me play the game though XD

Yeah, I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, so I'm not exactly rabid over it.
More than any of that, I want a chance to have a legal collection of every Lucasarts adventure game.

Yep. I like SW, but these are not the games I was looking for. I never got a chance to play LA adventure games when I was younger, so I'd be ecstatic to see things like the rest of the Monkey Island and Indy games, Loom, The Dig, Maniac Mansion... Maybe by Christmas, given their rate of release? >.<

You sound like me. I didn't get a chance to run through those items either, so after hearing about them for a couple decades, I'd really, really like to be able to do so.

Keeping fingers crossed that they're here before the end of the frigging year. Not exactly a patient person.
