GreenDamsel: Something something about a certain stereotype about french people always protesting.

Hoi,

How are you?
avatar
LaPtiteBete: LOL... true story :D
I'm globally good...
What about you ?
It seems, when diagnosed with stress-induced coughing, the correct answer is not "I'll reduce the stress once I'm done with this thesis."
Good day, everyone!

I was hoping to be able to spend the day with my partner, but she has had to go into work due to an emergency. Oh well, at least they are letting her have next week off. I figured I would see how all you lovely people are doing?

Did I miss anything fun?

*hugs and waves*

LaPtiteBete: I'm not enough angry anymore... !! :-\ it passed almost 1,47 minutes after I got home...
How are you doing, j0ekerr !! :)

j0ekerr: Questioning my life choices and feeling depressed.

I've recently been entertaining the notion of going back to college, which would be a train-wreck of epic proportions.
We had that drama just yesterday. Can everyone just stop being depressed about their life choices. -.-
avatar
AgentBirdnest: No problem B-|
Alright, I won't be sorry. A half day off sounds pretty nice :-)
Hmm... any cool things planned while pretending to work?
Yeah.
- Take a shower (having spent 3 hours in a car which doesn't have air conditioning)
- Go to the post office and the bank office in the afternoon (woohoo)
- Browse knitting projects and find something cute (a doll ?) to do for my owlet during my holidays
- Chat with you lovely people of the thread
- Maybe play a game ? watch a TV show ?... I don't know. Be LAZY anyway.

How are you doing ? :D
Could you please tell your farmer French colleagues to clear off the highway, please ? ... I just spent 2 x 1.5 hour to go to work... find out that I wouldn't be able to work because our electricity has been cut off... then go back home... does it sound fun enough ? ;-p

Aw... and have you a better idea of what you'd like to do now ?...
If you have the opportunity to go back to college, go on, no hesitation :)

LaPtiteBete: Unfortunately it's the only way to make things move here... annoying thousands people, make noise. That's why people think French love to complain... in fact, our Government is only deaf and blind, that's all... :)
>__o ..... ouch.... >__<
A win ? \o/ woohoo !!! and the day is not over... ):-| heh.
Well, if it actually works...
We don't have many protests like that, thanks to some lovely little weapons called "tear gas" and "rubber bullets". They break up the protesters quite effectively. The most we ever do is stand politely out of the way and hold signs. Never does anything of course. If you really want to get things done, you have to start bribing government employees :-|
(Is any government not blind and deaf? :-p)
Well, let's see if we can increase your amount of wins, then :-)

Hello, lovely Owl!

I am doing okay, been better, but doing okay. A bit sad that my partner had to go into work, but it's okay.

I was just reading about your farmers. I guess it is true that you French love to burn things. Sorry to hear your electricity has been cut, I can imagine that been a very annoying morning.

G'day, Deeds!

Sorry to hear your partner had to work :-( (great about next week though!!)
We'll try to keep you company the best that we can.

Let's see... fun... well, as Owl just informed me, GOG now sells Metro 2033 Redux :-) Other than that, I can't think of anything fun you missed. We'll have to create some new fun :-)

*really huge hug*

What's the fun in that? I thought that was the whole point of life, to regret and be depressed about everything. As Jackson would say, "These days I like to think a lot about the things that I forgot to do... and all the times I had the chance to..." ... And Jackson is awesome! :-D

Hello! How are you today? I hope you are feeling better and have slept well?

Do you like the Metro games?

Creating some new fun? What did you have in mind? I am not sure I will be much help, I feel like I will end up nodding off soon. It's been a hectic morning. So if I go quiet it's just because I am asleep, not that I am ignoring anyone. :-)

We fight protests with culture. Duty and Obedience were once German virtues and contributing to society is still a thing ( I believe). So usually when people strike and protest, the rest of the workforce just gets pissed at them for stopping to contribute. I think the last time it was the german train company (Deutsche Bahn), and people just got so pissed that trains weren't going anymore that the public pressure just forced an agreement at some point.
So no teargas, no rubber bullets. Just good old peer pressure of "man the fuck up, you lazy bum, and start working again".

Glad to read you're at least OK :)
When will your partner be back home ?...
I'm afraid they try Agent's methods... usually they don't burn things, they rather spread them on the ground. Like the tobacconists, who have spread, this morning, 4 tons of carrots in front of our socialist party headquarters gate... (yeah, ok, we love complaining and spreading food on the ground :D).
I waas pissed back then, and all the way back to home (due to the traffic jam I had to go through twice...) but now I'm glad to be back home and forced to have my afternoon off work :-p

No presentation anymore. Been there, done that 2 days ago. Just handing in the paper in October.

Yeah, for sure.... You could go to the Bank and Post offices in my place, so I could rest and relax even more :D [laziness level : increased]

She will not be back for quite some time, sadly some of the horses are not too good and they are understaffed at the moment due to a few people being off sick.

Didn't you French recently start fires on the channel tunnel, causing lots of problems? I think we need to take all the matches away from you all. :-)

At least you get a nice afternoon off, hopefully you can just relax.

*more hugs*

Doing alright... I'd rate myself about a 6.9/10 at the moment... I did sleep quite well, which was very nice :-)

I've only played 2033, and I never finished it (a simple case of other games grabbing my attention before I was done), but I thought it was fun. A really nice STALKER-like atmosphere, but more action focused (and not open world). I'll have to finish it someday.

I didn't have anything specific in mind... I dunno, you always come up with something interesting... Like tattooing my favorite spots with a ChainSword, that kind of thing ,'','',:-| ... or just random talking can be fun too :-)

*big return hug*

Hm... interesting... never heard of this "Duty and Obedience" ... Here it isn't so much about "contributing to society", it is more like "screw society and everyone else as long as I'm comfortable". For the most part though, everyone just puts up with whatever crap is handed to them...
