Good day everyone!

ddickinson: Yesterday I had cookies for you all, today I baked a traditional English Bakewell tart. Hopefully there will be enough to go around. :-)
Wow... that looks quite tasty *hug*
I wish I had more oppertunities to bake cakes/pies.

ddickinson: P.S. Tomorrow will be Banoffee pie. :-)
Mmmm banoffee pie is one of my favourites. Trying to be good at the moment too and lose some weight, which means cutting down on cakes and sweets :(

As for shooters, I haven't really played one in years. Red Steel 2 on the Wii was the last one I played..

Not really got any game I'm currently playing, just dippinf in and out of many. Mainly Stronghold and Theme Hospital (got it free on Origin yesterday) both pretty good games.

I have been baking to pass the time on a night, as I have not been sleeping too well. I also find it quite soothing, which is great for when you're feeling worn out and exhausted, like I am. :-)

A little treat now and then is alright, just make sure you only have one slice. :-)

Are there any Irish cakes/sweets/puddings that you would recommend trying? The only Irish food I have tried is soda bread when I was in Belfast, it came with a full English breakfast. I also like that they called it an English breakfast with an Irish touch. The Scottish just call it a Scottish breakfast, but then they do like to steal things and claim them for themselves, like haggis. :-)

That's the whole problem of it ;) I can't have just one slice so I prefer nothing at all, then I'm sure I'll be fine

Yep it is a great thing for relaxing. I love baking. I just need more people to eat the stuff to do more baking :D

Having one slice is usually my problem. I don't overeat with anything else, but if there is cake or chocolate around I can't help myself...

Not that I can think of... other than soda bread and lamb stew (Irish Stew) I can't think of many dishes at all that are uniquely Irish. The only cake I can think of is Brack, which is basically a fruit cake (or bread, can't remember) traditionally eaten at Halloween, but it's not that different to any of the fruit cakes you'd get in the UK.
Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone.

Hopefully you are all having a decent day so far at the very least. =)

Haven't had a chance to watch yet. The drum kit some bastard is beating on in my head's making that a smidge tricky at the moment.
But from what I've heard from multiple sources, yourself included, it was a very good speech.

Additional - I need to stop reading threads about some shitty looking dead MMO.
I could make a bunch of people cry, but that would be mean.
Dear gods, I wish they'd stop tempting me, though...

It was brilliant BUT,why 6,7 years later does he come out with this?
You'll see when you watch it.

Keep in mind, the state of the union thing is basically cheerleading.
In an official capacity, it's got somewhere between nothing and fuck-all to do with anything actually getting done. -laughs-

Yeah, that was my impression,as James Cagney said standing on a stage campaigning he said all they do is poke holes in the sky and nothing actually happens.
Still it was good to watch, and all those clap and stand up people who were they?Senators or lapdogs?

I agree with you on that. It is tempting :D
The guys there are lucky that I was in a slightly better mood these last days or I could not have stopped myself.

Players in the larger game.

It's wonderfully heartening to see the people who run my country behaving like fifth graders.
"Now let's show our support by clapping, yay! No, we don't like that person, don't clap, boo!"

It'd be better if it was a free-for-all where everyone could scream like lunatic hecklers, at which point the president could curse at and humiliate them on national television to make them shut up.

They're still around, so a plan B-type situation is still available. Just in case. ;)
