EndreWhiteMane: There is a ton of garden work to do at work. Those are my plans for this week if the weather lets me.
avatar
ddickinson: You just be sure to take it easy and don't overdo it, especially if the weather is too hot. We don't want you passing out and cooking in the sun. :-)

I have one of my scans tomorrow. I have to swallow some of Dr Jekyll's potion to help things show up better on the scan. For some reason I can never remember the name of the stuff, I think it's called Barium Swallow.

I am still waiting for my appointment for the other scans, namely the brain scans, but if I don't hear about them soon I will chase them up again.

avatar
CarrionCrow: I'm better with cold than heat, to be sure. The only annoyance to the winter is when pipes want to freeze and/or burst.
That's when things have the potential to get messy.
But at the same time, I'm willing to sit in the warmest space in the house for the sake of continued computer usage, so my heat tolerance must be decent as well.

Going with the cheapest upgrade. 7.50 a month for 2 and a half times the speed.
It's not a bad deal, I can burn twice as much on a single meal, a drink and a pack of cigarettes.
avatar
ddickinson: I am much better with the cold as well. It's easy to wrap up warm, but not so easy to stay cool. We don't really have problems with pipes freezing, even when the temperatures are low. I guess it's just the different way they are done here in the UK, or different materials perhaps?

It's a shame you get the increased speed after you downloaded all of your library again. It's as though they planned it like that to mock you. :-)
Hug?
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Are they guaranteeing a minimum speed for the money or is it a 'shared' connection like mine?
avatar
CarrionCrow: There's a guarantee on it. Their whole sales pitch revolves around not having to share.
Aside from the times that it crashes all together, the speed's been consistent unless I'm dealing with vendors who have piss poor online setups with horrible speed and stability.
That's good, mine can vary a lot depending on what the neighbors are doing. We're supposed to get 10MB at all times but that's pure hooey. :-)
avatar
CarrionCrow: Right, cold is easier to adjust to. In my case, indifference helps. I'll wear shorts when it's 5 degrees and feel more comfortable than people bundled up in multiple layers.
Silly people, they want to control the environment and end up miserable when they can't.

No clue in regards to the plumbing, I'm not exactly skilled in that area. Aside from a plan to install more insulation before cold weather sets in, I couldn't say which items have inherently better properties.

-laughs- Not too worried about it. The backup is current, and I would have done so whether it took a week or 6 months.
The speed will help whenever I get around to getting Witcher 3, assuming I don't just buy it for a console instead.
We don't tend to get very bad winters, partly due to us being an island. That doesn't stop some people complaining when we get the slightest sign of snow or ice.

I know that the UK has a lot more underground plumbing and things like that, but I guess that is quite hard to do in the US, as it's a big country and placing things below ground is a lot more expensive and time consuming.

Buy the Wither 3 for a console? That is crazy talk. :-)

EndreWhiteMane: Yep, it's barium, like milk of magnesia only not as tasty.
I hope the results are 100% in your favor, whether that means finding nothing, or something easily treatable.
I've spent the last 3 years being used as a lab rat, I hate it.
I prefer to call it Dr Jekyll's potion, except I am still my nice and friendly self after I drink it. Unless a jerk of a doctor decided to comment on my choice of partner like they did a few years ago after I was attacked. But at least I never had to deal with him again after that not that he would have wanted to after the little disagreement we had.

Thank you, I am sure everything will be okay. They are waiting to get all the tests before they tell me anything, so hopefully I get the final scans sorted soon.

Sorry to hear you have been used as a lab rat. The only times I have needed hospital attention is now with my scans, and after I was attacked when I was on life support and needed operations and things like that. I hate hospitals. I also find it hard to not press all the buttons :-). I see them and I just want to press them all and see what they do. I get it from my dad, at Christmas when he and my mum were in hospital the nurse had to deactivate a lot of the non-vital equipment for him as he kept messing with things. Not to be a pain, he was just bored and curious to see what they did.

Do you have to start from scratch on WoW once you go back, or does it save your progress from when you used to play it before?

Well, crap. People are requesting assistance. Time for more errands in the heat. Back in a bit.

Is this where I try to be philosophical and mention that being rich is a matter of perspective, and that people are often far richer than they realise, just perhaps not in regards to money. :-)

Yes,but more money I would love. And only the rich say (money doesn't make me happy).
What a load of CRAP...

I guess we will have to disagree on the whole money make you happy thing. While it is nice, and needed, there are definitely things that are more important for a happy like than money. And no, I am not rich. :-)

I beg to differ.

That's fine. I am really not trying to cause and argument or anything like that.
