EndreWhiteMane: It is surprising, even with a price increase the break even point is going to be a ways out.
I guess it's a gift horse, enjoy it.
Oh, I certainly will. Having a speed over 1 megabyte a second again will feel like light speed compared to what I have now.
Well, the upgrade is 7.50 a month. 12 months, 90 dollars per customer per year, so they're making back 9 grand a year per 100 people, and that's at the lowest price point.
People with more disposable income than myself will choose better plans, I'm sure.
ddickinson: I thought you might have it bad both ways. Desert-like areas are often a lot colder than people thinks. Are you used to the different extremes in weather, or do they still cause lots of problems for you?
That is good news. Will it make a big difference in download speed. I imagine they will be increasing the price to pay for all the work. Heaven forbid they use some of their profits for the infrastructure when they can charge the customer for the work.
I'm better with cold than heat, to be sure. The only annoyance to the winter is when pipes want to freeze and/or burst.
That's when things have the potential to get messy.
But at the same time, I'm willing to sit in the warmest space in the house for the sake of continued computer usage, so my heat tolerance must be decent as well.
Going with the cheapest upgrade. 7.50 a month for 2 and a half times the speed.
It's not a bad deal, I can burn twice as much on a single meal, a drink and a pack of cigarettes.
