A quick question for the Americans. Is it true that the US Government has banned the sale of Kinder eggs (chocolate eggs with a toy in the middle) in the US?

I read an article recently that said they were banned because of a new law that says nothing no food related can be inside food. The article seemed to imply that it was due to some Americans trying to eat the toy and thinking it was part of the chocolate egg, or eat other items inside other food. So I was just wondering if it was true?

I've never even heard of them.

I will say we Americans are notoriously stupid regarding food and you constantly hear about kids swallowing things.

On a dietary note i remember hearing something about packaging toys with food period (Happy Meals, cereal) was on the chopping block because it was being viewed as enticing the kids into eating crap. I don't know if anything came of that though.

I just read on Wikipidia that they are indeed banned:

That's a shame. If the US can't have food with foreign objects inside, how the hell am I going to get tinyE a birthday cake with a woman inside ready to jump out for his birthday? :-)

I have an idea. You live in the US, how about we dress you up in some nice stocking and suspenders and get you to jump out of a cake for tinyE? I'm sure the US can't stop a home made cake. :-)
