ddickinson: Has it got you all rested and relaxed now? I bet it was nice just going away for the weekend and just having fun.

I will have a look at the places you visited later in the week, I am sure they are quite interesting.
Yes the trip helped a lot. Feeling pretty rested and relaxed now. It was definitely a nice change :).
They were interesting - for different reasons. And especially visiting the Bendlerblock - i.e. the memorial of the german resistance - was a real coincidence. My hostel was actually next to the Ministry of Defense where this memorial is located.

moonshineshadow: *extra big hug* If you want to talk about it, I don't mind. But if you prefer to keep it to yourself that is also fine :-)

So we should find some fun topic for now :D
I will see how I feel later in the week, at the moment I am a bit too emotional about it still. *big thank you hug*

A fun topic? That would be nice. Any ideas? :-)

The German resistance? Do you mean during the war, or the rest of the EU at the moment? :-) (Sorry for the bad joke. :-))

It is often quite interesting to learn about the different resistance groups during the war. Mostly it is dominated by the French (who sometimes betrayed the British and the Allies, rather than help them), but there were resistance on all fronts, even among the AXIS forces.

Are you reading anything nice at the moment? I have been mainly reading things for work, agricultural books and things like that, as well as some history books and a few fiction books that I had started a while ago before my long work hours.
Here we go, a damn good song.

;)...don't worry but the the joke is somewhat fitting. But the memorial is about all resistance groups during the time of the Third Reich and not only the war. And the location is not a coincidence because it's the Place where Claus von Stauffenberg was executed after the failed 'Operation Valkyrie'.

I was reading Written in Red from Anne Bishop. Normally I am not into this fantasy with shapeshifters, but this was really good and I just kept on reading until the end.

It has been quite some time since I read about 'Operation Valkyrie', but I can see why they chose that as the spot for the memorial.

That's good. I am not always a big fan of fantasy, although I have a few lined up, a few you have recommended, and also the Witcher series that toxicTom bullied me into buying. :-)

Good evening! How was your weekend? Although I guess the weekend is still going for you, at least for a while longer.

My mum got the Witcher books as audiobooks and she has also been telling me they are good.

Yes. It's the most famous of the resistance movements after all.

ToxicTom was quite adamant that I get them and give them a read. I have to be in the right mood for fantasy books, but those and the Raven books you recommended are top of my list when I am in the mood.

How are you settling back in after your holiday? I bet you are still missing it even after been home all this time?

What was your favourite part of your trip to Berlin?
I need to get some sleep *good night hugs and waves*

Goodnight, Moonshine! Sleep tight and pleasant dreams!

Hmm...i'd say seeing Berlin again in general and visiting Sanssouci today i think - although that was in Potsam...
Kreuzberg was interesting to see in Berlin. It's difficult to choose a favourite part because of the short time i was there.
