Good morning!

gunsynd: Skyrim DRM free.Is that asking for too much?:-)
Good evening!

Wishful thinking perhaps. But for you we will see what we can do. But only if you accept having the paid mods. :-)

moonshineshadow: Problem is without the gogwiki syncing working anymore it is hard to make good suggestions since we can't have easily a look at the collection of each other anymore.
That's true. No doubt GOG will eventually enable some social ability to share our shelves just as we do the wishlists.

ddickinson: I just had one last look at the sale, and there are 2 games from my wishlist (one mainly to play with my brothers some time in the future), and one or two that are not on my wishlist but look a little interesting. But nothing vital, and definitely not anything I can't wait for.

Are there any must have games that people would suggest?

superstande: Kinda love-or-hate thing... but Trails in the Sky!
I've spent 45 hours or so this June on it... My social life is hitting an all-time low :)
Sure it's not even a good discount, and having main characters as these teenage kids does not probably sound interesting, but it's so much full of silly humour.
Sorry I get a bit carried away...
The whole child/teenage protagonists in a lot of games puts me off now. Just as it does with anime. I kind of miss the old days when the characters could be grown adults, rather than just children. But I guess they are aimed at the teenage market, and I am sure they do quite well. Trails in the Sky has some good reviews, but if you are not too certain then maybe wait until it has a bigger discount, or until you are more sure about it.

That would be nice. There would no need to have it visible all the time. But for example like someone wanting a suggestion for an adventure , we could first have a loook at the games already in the collection :-)

Yes yes it is.

Actually Skyrim can keep its DRM so long as Bethesda lets us have fallout back.

This might sound odd coming from an admitted weeabo, but I'm often put off by character motivations in japanese media. All too often, they make me facepalm so hard it hurts.

It's miracle my eyes havent popped out of my sockets with all the rolling they do every time I'm forced to watch another cutscene of valkyria chronicles.

That would be a good idea. But I doubt GOG would introduce something like that any time soon. Although I think Steam allows people to view each others games, and with GOG wanting to be another Steam, maybe they will implement that as well.

I am sure Bethesda are devious enough to make all mods incompatible with the DRM-free version so that you are forced to use their paid mods. :-)

But I can't see Bethesda bringing the game here, especially as they took away games from GOG.

Yeah sure, you are right. I think that is actually one of the most negative things about that game, so many young characters. And there's such a large collection of all kinds of games, so no point trying to force oneself to play games that are too irritating :)
Even my wife who doesn't mind cute graphics, said after trying to play it for a while, "I want to die now!" and quit :)
But then again I grew up watching anime and playing jrpgs along with western entertainment so it doesn't jump into my face so much....

I'd guess the phrase, "It's an acquired taste," would fit here :p

Didn't they stop this paid mod thing after the backlash of the community?

I used to love watching anime, but quite a lot of it now is just young girls in slutty outfits . More and more are just young kids and teenagers, rather than adults like in the older anime. Even the ones with the adults are still full of kids or childish humour/storylines.

Actually they were never adults, they were always teenagers, who might have aged a couple of years somewhere along the translation process. Remember Chrono Trigger? Chrono and Luca were just kids.

Nowadays that people cry artistic rape whenever any detail from the original is altered the ages are left as they were and we facepalm at these 15 year olds being saviours of the universe.

We get Batman, they get teenagers who use the power of FRIENDSHIP!

I think we got the better deal.

Yeah, I was just joking that the only way Bethesda would let us have it DRM free would be to accept paid mods. :-)

Great, you spoiled it now. Now Bethesda will never let us have their games and paid mods. :-)
