HypersomniacLive: Good day, folks!

Is everyone going into the weekend in a good mood?

Mine is, compared to the previous days. My friend's treatment was approved! It's still unclear if the total cost is covered, but it's definitely a step forwards. The sad news is that it'll take another week or so before the official documents are sent to her, and she cannot schedule the procedure until then. The good news is that she's been told that there are no waiting lists. A safe guess is that it'll take until the end of the month before she's admitted.
hey :-) *offers hug* That is really good news! A step in the right direction. I hope the treatment will work well for her.

I'm so glad that your (female :-)) friend has been given approval. I hope the cost will not be too much and that everything will continue to go well. *big happy hug*.

That's great news Hyper. Glad she's going to get the procedure. Shame about all the bureaucracy but at least you know it will get done.

ddickinson: "Total Children: 209."

Two things come to mind:
1. You have been a busy boy. :-)
2. Your poor wife having to deliver all those kids. I knew the Irish had big families, but I never thought you had over 200 kids. :-)
Lol. Well most of them (all really..) died in a variety of horrific ways at the hands of the denizens of the castle.

I was more surprised that I appear to have spent 45 hours on it :S

Good day, Hyper!
Glad to hear that you are in a comparatively good mood, and that your friend's treatment was approved :-)

Wait... It's the weekend?
!@#$, I thought it was Thursday! (Not that it matters. I don't really have anything to do. I just hate when that happens :-P)

Well, there are no guarantees, she's not even given an estimation for her case. We all hope it will work, and that brain surgery won't be required later on.

The whole thing costs something like $30K, so I hope that it's covered in full, or at least most of it (>75%-80%).

She would have had the procedure either way, as that's the best course according to her doctors. But not having to cover the total cost is a big relief, as the thing doesn't come cheap.

Change of subject - who's spending their hard earned money on the weekend sale and what are they getting?

The original Larry series and probably Dark Side since I get it for $4.99, that's it I think. ;)

Very glad to hear that! Please pass on my well wishes to her.

I lack IGI, 1nsane, & Speedball. I'll grab all three at some point, but undecided as to whether that will be this weekend or not. A nice discount, I may just grab them.

Speedball has pretty awful reviews, but they appear to address things that wouldn't matter to me. I remember playing a version of it, somewhere/sometime, but not enough to view it through the tint of nostalgia and be upset by what results from the reissue.

I am thinking about trying one of the creature games but no one could offer me an opinion about them so I have not yet decided what to do.

I just wanted to hear some opinion about it. Are they good, complicated, easy etc :-)

They aren't really games, they are extensive virtual pets. You incubate the eggs, they hatch, you raise them, teach them how to speak, teach them tricks, rinse and repeat. As far as hard, not so long as your patient I suppose; they are aimed at kids after all.
