FoxySage: Hello everyone. ^_^

Looks like this jibber-jabber thread is doing alright, already up on 24 pages. Still pretty slow compared to the jibber-jabber thread i was part of on another forum but it's still fairly new and might pick up in tempo later on. ;-)

EndreWhiteMane: Hello all, remember me?

FoxySage: Your new avatar and title change makes you appear very dwarfish in my opinion. ;)

The avatar though reminds me a bit of a dwarf character i created a few years back. Very nice. :-)

LaPtiteBete: Yes, thanks... we don't want to get drown ^^
Are you that young ? :D
avatar
FoxySage: You're still a few years older than me and i thought i was old. :P
Thanks! HypersomniacLive made the avatar for me. Great job too.
You guys get any younger in here and I'll have to start using "munchkin" instead of "kid". :-)
So I suppose I am young, but I enjoy some good ole games with my Uncle.

Young is good! Don't let me bother you, I just kid around in here a lot. :-)
Edit: And good for you and your uncle, bet they're good times. ;)

Stilton: snip
I thought the term 'postal' applied to the disgruntled attitude of stressed postal workers. Now I know that a better definition is for the homicidal urges said workers cause on the people they fail to deliver to.

Yeah, saw that during the winter sale. He did a good job with it too. :)

Don't start throwing insults at me. I hate munchkins.

My apologies, never heard that term before in reference to games, remember I'm old. I was referring to these: <grin>

FoxySage: Are you too old to never have heard of a tabletop rpg term? Then you must be ancient. A grumpy and ancient dwarf. :P
THAT is entirely cool. And I must say, I like his attitude. :-O

j0ekerr: Change it with a 5" floppy, see if they ever notice the difference.
How about this one? A floppy disc the size of a laserdisc. Two obsolete technologies in one!

ddickinson: That was my favourite frisbee. :-)
If it's any consolation, all that glitter on it clogged up the grinder. ;)

moonshineshadow: I don't know what you posted, but I feel like giving you a hug (and no not one to strangle you) *hug*
I only strangle because I have too much love to give and can't contain it. They are love strangles :-)
I'll try to do it more loosely this time. *hugs back*

Ah yes, the 8 inch floppy disk, developed in 1967. But I don't think it ever saw much use at all outside of the proffessional computing industry, since by 1978 the 5¼ one had already crowned itself as its successor.

Btw, aren't floppy disks as vulnerable, if not more, to magnetic degradation as video tapes?

EDIT: Hrrrm, after some digging, that looks a lot like a CRV disc. Making it rather a precursor of the CDR than a floppy.

Such a heartwarming image of paternal love.

Stilton: THE PARCEL IS LOST!!!!!!
avatar
moonshineshadow: ok... that is really bad! I hope it will be found, don't loose hope! Once I sent a parcel for Christmas and my friend never got it. So months later during summer he calls and tells me he got a christmas parcel. It was finally found and sent to him :D
I got this once, too. I ordered a package from America (I live in the Netherlands). Usually things from America tend to get here in 1-2 weeks. After 3 months, I still hadn't received anything, so the company sent me a new package, which I promptly received. A few months later, the original package turns up at the company in America, because they'd forgotten to put my housenumber on it ... So the parcel travelled all the way to the Netherlands, then nobody could be bothered to find out my house number, and it was probably sent back, then lost somewhere.
How many of you are going to be using the new Galaxy client when it is eventually launched?

I'm not big on online multiplayer games, so I probably won't be using it, I prefer single player over multiplayer. But it does worry me that this "optional" client seems to be getting referred to as the only option in the future (getting rid of the downloaded in the future, for example, leaving only Galaxy or a web browser). I wonder if the framework for it will be part of every installer soon, which seems a bit forced, not optional. Hopefully it won't become forced on us, making key feature require Galaxy (such as patches, installing, downloading, etc.), while still telling us it's optional.

I am also not much into multiplayer, perhaps I will use it for that sometimes but not that often. What I surely not use is the uninstall function of the client if it is not really improved. As for downloads, I would not mind using the client for downloading the games instead of the actual gog installer when the function to download standalone installer is integrated.
