The guy was arrested in March on drug charges and in April his Uncle gave him a gun.
Way to go Unc.

Hey, little blob: I found a photograph of you in an article about a newly discovered, still unnamed octopus :D

Oh, and there's also a video!

So cute!

Here's an european opinion. How about Weapon regulation laws?
Like, I know some stuff is pretty impressive from an engineering point of view, but in the end.... y'know, makes it just easier for some people to go rabid.

It's so interesting how cultures differ to some degree. Like the whole NSA thing blew up in Germany like nothing in quite some years. We are just incredibly sensitive about privacy, due to historical malpractice (Stasi & Gestapo). And I feel that didn't get as much attention in the USA.
Then again we don't mind one bit that Weapons are heavily regulated.

Never owned a gun in my life, and never intend to. But I can imagine some even here will throw a shit fit at that suggestion here.

If it was a handgun, which I believe it was, there are laws.
You cannot just give someone a handgun, there is a registration and 'cool down' process to go through.
Which this guy could never have qualified for.
If they could rig guns so illegal ones can't kill people we'd be all set.
But yes, in spite of our constitutional right to bear arms, things have gotten very out of control.

As far as I know Gun ownership is heavily controlled. There can be random inspections of government officials, in which they check how you store weapons. For example you have to store ammunition separately from the weapons. Both in steel lockers, where only the license owner knows the code/key. If for example children have the possibility of accessing these lockers you lose your license immediately and face jurisdiction.

Our rusty, broken sieve that are the patchwork of gun laws makes that pretty much impossible. Much like with credit card laws as soon as one state tightens up all the major offenders flock to the state with the laxest laws and continue to sink the entire country. While the easy answer is to blaim our education system that the right underfunds and slashes every chance it can, the truth is that the long cultural stock of America was filled with mostly the garbage that Europe didn't want in the first place. Criminals and prodistants so stodgy even Victorian Great Britain was a happening discotheque in comparison.
I'd never need a gun in my own home, never been paranoid enough to feel that I'd ever need one.

gog bear post eating again?

I'm not sure just what the rules are here, I've never kept a loaded weapon in the house, in the car or on my person except when hunting or at the range.
Now I own no firearms at all, just a trusty oak baseball bat.

You grow up and live in the southeast United states for the first twenty something years of your life and see with what sort of glasses you view the world. Humanity is a virus with shoes.

Morning everyone, about the same here today.
Hope everyone is doing OK or better.
Good morning. =)

That can suck too. Combating that with pastimes like killing bunnies in Shadow Warrior as a counterpoint to Stilton's mentioning of them.
