Well at first I tried the official windows gog downloader but with needing to click on all the download links manually and the constant freezes, I quickly changed to the (linux cli) lgogdownloader that just got everything in your library no questions asked....
but the downloader can't handle updates when the folder/file structure of the downloads is changed, (it would just redownload everything in the folder he thinks it has to be in) that's why I figured to never change the order the downloader made and just make my own structure in another folder using links to the actual game folders... that way I can just run the downloader regularily and not bother to check if I missed something or have to download anything twice.

Vnlr: I think I'll settle for Nelson. The hat topples the balance in his favor (the hat is the most important part of the uniform, along with the colle and the trousers :P

CarrionCrow: Your method sounds much simpler. I like mine because I get to play around in the guts of my library while it clicks along. It reminds me of how much I've retrieved, and that helps temper any irrational feelings of "Oh man, I didn't get such-and-such during this sale!" when I can see hundreds and hundreds of titles that I was exposed to by downloading them, deciding what to load up one by one.

mchack: huh, that makes total sense to me. I should stop buying games and start building my backup library, from this perspective it even sounds like a lot of fun :) if only the hard disks weren't so expensive (what with all my money being spent on games ;)
