CarrionCrow: Okay, finally fully awake and functional again. Funny how restored chemical levels help in that regard.
Only 85 more games to download...for some reason, my brain's trying to tell me it's the final stretch.
Every time it does so, I open the list of file sizes and remind it that it's stupid, since we have 3 games that add up to 55.8 gigs by themselves, let alone all the rest.
Vnlr: GOG should launch its own communications sattelite for quicker downloads ... ne? :)
Even if they did, it wouldn't affect my speed. Can't shove a tidal wave through a drinking straw.
mchack: but do you have to babysit the downloads? back when I even tried to backup my gog loot, I used lgogdownloader and thought about sorting the thing via softlinks (ln -s goggames/Witcher 3/ games/rpg/witcher3 or something like that)
But I gave up when my nas was telling me it's almost full with over 1tb only for gog games.
(don't have the slightest Idea it how much it would be now... But with all the updates coming in, lgogdownloader was quite cool, because it only got the changed files again)
edit: So if I had enough space in my nas, I'd just try to compile lgogdownloader for it and make a cron job, to run lgogdownload weekly and never bother to download a game via the website again. And the sorting can be done via links if I'd be inclined to do so)
I've been watching them since I'm doing a full library restoration and don't want to miss anything.
Making use of the downloader, which is generally load and forget, aside from the occasional freeze that necessitates pausing and resuming the downloads.
Everything gets organized manually, no programs or protocols in place to do so.
