'Birds' is a slang term sometimes used in the UK to refer to a woman who is considered quite attractive, or in reference to a man's girlfriend. The term can be seen as a bit sexist, but it depends on the context. So Endre being an ornithologist would mean he was a 'Bird' (attractive woman) watcher.

Yes, it is odd (the version thing, not the perv thing) I installed twice with FF closed, I figure I'll just wait for them to push me the update.
