HypersomniacLive: Hey everyone, good that most seem to be doing good.

As for me, I saw the bones doctor yesterday, have to get an MRI scan for my back issues, and was diagnosed with two separate cases of tendinitis, need to do physiotherapy and take meds for the next two months. But other than this, I'm doing good.

On GOG related news, I was quite po'd until a few moments ago as none of the mostly useful_during_sales site features were working for me, but they're now restored, so I've calmed down. :-)
My best wishes to you, Hyper.

Stilton: Sorry your back's ailing. MRIs are quite interesting, if you haven't had one before. They're noisy and you'll know what a torpedo feels like, but the machine itself is pretty amazing. Make sure they offer you some music; it can help put your mind somewhere else ;-)
I had one less than a year ago, but to fully diagnose a different issue. There was no music, as I had to follow instructions via headphones regarding my breathing, but it was an interesting experience, and a procedure I don't mind being fully aware of. :-)

Hope the Doc will have a solution for your daughter, vertigo drains all the joy out of life.

CarrionCrow: I hate S's. 14.9 percent of my library is made up of S's. I am sick to death of looking at them.

BillyMaysFan59: We're talking uprepping lightsabers, not the regular ones used in war. Jedi Knights don't have the skill to build uprepping lightsabers. :P
avatar
CarrionCrow: What do you think of the lightsaber that actually looks like a regular sword, only with light projections serving as hand guards?
Me too. Always wished my name was Anderson, then I'd be first in line for stuff. :-)

penumbren: I'll have to keep that in mind. Now that I have one of them, the other two will keep staring at me... but they'll have to keep staring longer, because I'm pretty sure if I buy anything else during this sale, I'll regret it more than I'll enjoy the games. :P

Today we have plans to drive out to a nearby "recreational reserve".... hopefully it'll be worth the trip. We're both craving some forest-y area, and from the description, it might deliver. We'll see. :)
Hey Penumbren :)
I envy your determination to resist the temptation of buying more stuff... !! :)
"Recreational reserve" ?..... It sounds awesome !! :D
I want to ask a question about the shopping cart. I put four games into it while they were on a discount and now when I go to the cart it's showing up that they're still discounted.

So I would only pay as much as it says on screen right?

What happens if I added another game to the cart? Would the prices change?

(Maybe I'm just mistaken and they're still on sale even though they're not on the front page?)
I have to get back to studying full-time again now though ... a little sprint and after tomorrow, it'll be over for months ...

Hope you all have a splendid evening/ what rests of your day!! :D

I'd settle for people not screwing up my last name like they have for frigging decades now. -laughs-

Stilton: I just found some good reviews of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games on YouTube and they seem to be a mixed bag. Clear Sky is generally regarded as the weakest (or an 'insult' depending on how big a fan of the series you are) with the first one (Chernobyl) taking top honours. They're not must have titles, but they offer enough interest/immersion to be rewarding (aparently). I haven't played them myself, but I've always wondered what they were like. They're pretty buggy too, according to the reviews.

If Agent's still with us, hope you're doing OK!
Curse be ye to languish in the depths of Hel. Now you've given me another item to lust after, and my list is already full.

Agent did like them if I remember correctly and it seems Vnlr enjoys them too.

ALL of the games are on sale at the moment, you should be good until tomorrow. :-)

BillyMaysFan59: Has anyone had any experience with buying refurbished laptops on retailers like Newegg?
My current laptop is a refurb (from Tesco if I remember correctly..) and all I would say is make sure you get a decent warranty with it. The hard drive failed in mine after six months, but as it was covered they fixed it and I haven't had any (major) issues since.

I know I considered Amazon's refurbs, but I seem to remember they came with no guarantee what so ever so I wasn't willing to risk it.
Not sure what Newegg's policies are like, but I would check if they guarantee the refurbs for at least 6 - 12 months.

Yeah, mine get some 'variations' quite often too. :-)
Do you think the UFO series will be on sale ?
