adaliabooks: Shame that, it looks quite interesting and I might have got it if it was cheap.
Yes. I watched TBs video of it sounded really interesting plus i like arkham style combat systems :). Maybe they continue with new offers tomorrow but i'm not sure...

Vnlr: yes, I have to finish memorizing the cycles of vital chemical compounds (which is the last thing that needs doing), you know, things like sulfur, water, phosporus, nitrogen ... ;)

But a few games I've been wanting to buy came on, so I just spent some small coinage on Conquest: frontier wars, Saitns' row and Clive Barkers undying :D

And it seems I might as well grab Jade empire; everyone here says it's great, and apperently if I don't fFearfull will come paddling over the meuse from the Netherlands to admonish me personally ;)
Don't buy it! Check your chat. ;)

FearfulSymmetry: Evil mastermind! You're robbing other ninjas of their jobs. :P
But what am I supposed to do, just add lots of random games to the list to keep it populated? :-)

This way everyone is happy, especially me. :-)

XxXSprayvWarXxX: Oh I see :-)

How are you?

EndreWhiteMane: Doing OK today.
Good to hear!

Ixamyakxim: I love The Banner Saga. Dare I say best game on GoG?

Also, I played the first STALKER. It *is* creepy at times, and while there aren't too many traditional jump scares there are a few invisible enemies, dark abandoned towns and crumbling underground ruins. Hell, even hearing a closing pack of dogs when you're poorly equiped is "scary" in a gameplay sense.

HOWEVER - I have seen Sachys telling people NOT to play CS if they have any remote interest in the STALKER series. It is a complete and utter spoiler for multiple endings of Shadow of Chernobyl. So if you wanted to play SoC, maybe hold off on playing CS for a while.
I've heard loads of good things about it, plus it's got a Norse inspired setting which I love. It's been on the radar for the past three or four big sales but it's always been just a little too expensive (especially considering the one criticism I've heard of it is that it's a bit short). Not sure whether it's actually cheaper this time around, but I've got enough extra cash to spare so I went for it.

I'll think on it... FPS's in general aren't really my thing any more (other than Jedi Knight, but that's mostly nostalgic because I loved it first time around) and I'm not great with creepy or jump scares...

However I very much doubt I would buy any of the others (unless it turned out I absolutely loved it) so I'm not worried about spoiling them.

LaPtiteBete: (oh... this little lurker is online)
(Agent, since you're there, I hope you'll feel better soon.)
(**Big random healing and comforting hugs**)

AgentBirdnest: ;-p
Sorry... I'm checking in occasionally. I can't stay away from you lovely people :-) ... I'm having a really difficult time thinking and writing though... Of course, I always make an exception for my favorite Owl ;-)
**Big not-so-random thank you hug**
*Big salute before Agent pops out again*
Hope you get to feeling better quickly. :/

LaPtiteBete: Endre !!! **Big random happy bear hug**
Glad to read you're at least ok...
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Hi Little One!
OK=Normal for me so all is well. :-)
Ok, good to know !!
**add this entry to my Endre-Owl dictionary** ;-p

All right then, evil mastermind. :P

LaPtiteBete: I'm a massive wuss too (I was unable to play Alone in the Dark I back then... lol... I made progress, I played it for 10 minutes yesterday, and didn't have any nightmare !! \o/)... and I have good memories of STALKER ; I didn't play myself, but watched someone play ; and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Nothing to do with games like "Silent Hill" or "Resident Evil" (I don't know many other horror games ; I'd love to be able to play them, as I love horror movies ; but I can't... :-|).
I can't tell for sure, not having played them by myself since then... but I own them on GOG now, and I intend to play them ! :)
Thanks Owl, I might just add it to my library and try it. Worst that can happen is I don't like it. It's probably going to be pretty impossible to give away anyway...

Resident Evil and Silent Hill are definitely no goes for me... to be honest even Half Life was a bit much for me (having head crabs leap out at you from nowhere). But we'll see...

Vnlr: quick question, is Jade empire a good game?

I've never heard of it, but it seems fun enough if the description is somethign to go by ...
avatar
FearfulSymmetry: DON'T BUY IT! Sit tight and it will magically appear in your chat. :)
People, the dearest above person did indeed come paddling up the meuse ... with a jade empire code :D

it's raining +1's over in Holland ;)

FearfulSymmetry: *makes more tickle gestures*
Well, I have been known to talk to animals ... ;) Especially the cat, since he actually meows back. He's got different meows depending on whether he wants to go outside, have food, get some attention, or when a door's closed (which he disapproves of).
**Still staying on the top of your roof**
Cats hate closed doors. They will meow until you open them... which doesn't mean they want to go to the other side, of course ^^

This definitely sounds like our cats. Doesn't matter what's on the other side, or whether they want to go there, they just don't like not having the option.

I'd say play it then. Who knows when you'll be in the mood for a "change of pace" and want to fire up an FPS. Also, the game very much feels more like a first person RPG with very interesting gun mechanics. Run and gun will get you killed - you have to play to your strengths, and you'll find the game will eventually provide you with the tools to do that. The initial learning curve can be a bit steep but the game rewards slow, methodical play, carefully lined up shots and an eye for cover / situational awareness.

Done.

But surly you mean The Netherlands? Holland is the name of a region, not the country. :-)

That does sound interesting... what the hell, let's just add it to my account.

Thanks for the advice guys :)
