Ixamyakxim: Speaking of SciFi roguelikes, has anyone here tried Bionic Dues?

And if you have, had you ever played Super Robot Taisen (spelling)? Care to compare / contrast (I'm not expecting the same depth of plot as a single player RPG, mostly curious about if the gameplay in one would be enjoyable as compared to that in the other).
I've tried Bionic Dues, in fact I just tried it again to refresh my memory. It's sort of weird, it's turn based but real time (not sure if this can be toggled) and I'm honestly not sure how the turns factor into it, considering (again) everything is basically in real time. You're able to choose which mission you want to do, there are usually a few for you to pick from, I'm really early in the game but they all seem to be a mixture of "kill everything while keeping X amount of X alive". There is a time limit for the main quest, 60 in game days which can be reduced to 30 if you're doing good.

Anyway, I'm not very good at it and I'm very early in it, but that's the info I can give about it.
Well...I've got new games. But now I can't decide which one to go after first.
The Cult were great even when they went through their AC/DC phase.
EDIT: I just realized, I should have posted this as its own topic. It really doesn't belong in the conversation thread.

SO, How is everyone today (night?)

I'm doing pretty good, but I have work in the morning and I'm spending my precious sleep time scouring GoG for deals I may have missed.

That happens a lot around here. :-)

mchack: I find it hard to go by those screenshots, to know if I'd like the graphics. sometimes they're better on a large screen (or worse) ... hmm, but most reviews are about bugs and that noone was working on it anymore. it's been half a year I thought maybe someone knows if the situation has improved.

EndreWhiteMane: It has been getting updates, here is the forum link so you can see what you think:

ok I tried it out now for half an hour and it still is buggy as hell :) looks fun though. but when my crew all died I pressed R for reload and was instead of a boat just on some plank flying high over water and when wanting to board an island everyone drowned when I then tried R for reload again they respawned over the water and instantly drowned again.
Didn't actually save anywhere but the autosave is obviously broken.
Guess I just should've believed the reviews. Still, I'll try again and maybe it works when you just avoid the autosave.

Thanks for the review, I think I'll pass. :-)

Good night all, till tomorrow. ;)
Good evening everyone.

Did some laptop shopping on eBay and already built up a small watchlist. I don't plan on buying anything yet since we will be leaving on another camping trip this week... but I've seen some nice looking options to consider.

In the meantime, though, I'm on my old ultraportable, and it's not very graphically powerful, but I could run some older 2D games on Wine/DOSBox..... I'm sure there's plenty of them in my backlog that I should check out yet. Anyone want to look on my outdated GOGWiki shelf and give me recommendations? :)

There are ways to arrive in the conversational free for all thread with style and then there are not.

The guy with the Deus Ex avatar certainly did it the right way.

WIth tact and politeness!
Also, I have to say it's nice to see other Australians kicking around; I wasn't sure how long it would take to run into another :P If you don't mind my asking; from which state do you hail and are your net speeds worse than Queensland's?
