moonshineshadow: I have no idea what UTC is, but we have daylight saving time :P
avatar
ElTerprise: It's Greenwich time i.e. british time...which is the Coordinated Universal Time...which abbreviated to UTC for no apparent reason...

XxXSprayvWarXxX: Alright time for me to sleep. Good night guys!

ElTerprise: Good Night and sleep well :).
Thank you so much EIT :) You too! When you going to go! :)

EndreWhiteMane: So you are UTC +2? Does that change in fall due to Daylight Saving?

OK, I think I've got this now.

Whoever thought I'd care when it was 2am in Poland? :-)

-laughing hard- If at first you don't succeed, it's because time zones are a royal pain in the ass. ;)

Add it to the thread!

(This would be much more clear if I included a link to said thread... but... well... you know. Forum search and all).

I always thought Greenwich time is GMT? So is UTC equal to GMT? *confused*

I'm lazy right now. I'll get to it eventually. =)

Additional - Being reminded since a friend request was mentioned.
If someone sends me a friend request and we know each other but I don't accept it, it's not because I'm harboring some kind of hidden resentment.
My friend tab is just super broken right now.
Seriously, if I ever feel lonely, all I have to do is click on it and there's Atlas bear. He's been my constant friend tab companion for weeks now.

Yes. GMT is the local mean time identical with UTC.

It's UTC because it's a French term. It is the same as GMT during normal hours but it DOES NOT change with daylight savings. So it and GMT differ by 1 hour for part of the year.
Here we are UTC -6 for part of the year and UTC -5 during daylight savings time.

Edit, that's assuming places within GMT have daylight savings time, some places don't.

Edit2: I was wrong, it just stands for Universal Time Coordinated.

No in french it would be TUC -> temps universel coordonée. From what i know it's a compromise between the english term CUT and the french term TUC...
Good evening, everyone!

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend?

*big happy hugs and silly waves*

Can you all please give Moon, Soccorro, and ELT lots of +1s for all gifting me the same thing while I was away. I am dreadfully sorry I had to turn down two of your lovely gifts, I feel so bad about that :-(, I hope this will not casue too much inconvenience. But I really appreciate your kind gifts and I am very touched. Thank you.

*big thank you hugs*

uh ok. I always thought GMT was also fixed. Meaning that daylight would just make it GMT+1. Ah whatever, time zones are confusing *big hug*
