Yes - probably has something to do with the depiction of unconstitutional symbols....
It was blocked when GOG launched their german language site.

Huh... wonder why Medal of Honor isn't banned. It has quite a lot of those symbols.

Yes. That's an interesting question but the thing is that the uncut version of Commandos is confiscated in Germany whereas Medal of Honor isn't...(at least to my knowledge)...

I guess it was never meant to make any sense.
I don't know if any media is outright banned here, but like everywhere else, our rating systems are completely plucked up. No point in trying to understand, I guess :-|

Well it's not a matter of rating actually. The problem is that videogames don't fall under the freedom of arts in germany which would allow them to depict nazi symbolism. All decisions concerned with it are based on the court desicion to ban Wolfenstein 3D in '94 or '95 im not sure. Even the german rating board is favour of changing the law so that games are considered art....the law is just outdated...

Here in Greece, we don't have any stupid laws like these, they are considered art, we didn't have any bans here on games as long I can remember.

Ah, I see...
Here, "freedom of speech" and "freedom of the press" are vague enough to cover just about everything that exists, so there are rarely issues.

Well i'm not a lawyer but the Section 86a from the german penal outlawing the depiction of the symbols applies at all time no matter the freedom of speech - in the same way hate speech will be prosecuted in germany...

Actually we had a law that banned every game and console, if you have been found playing video games, even mineswapper you would be arrested in 2002. Check it out.

merry afternoon people! *pops in amidst a golden shower of dandilions and these *

I uploaded a little piece, more in the genre of the last one; a bit quiter and more relaxed, I intent to get at least 4 of those Elegies of the meuse done. It's great writing them, wood winds are lovely!

And the public takes well to them too. A like, a repost, and only once has it been listened to? XD

And I've got a surprise in mind :p
