superstande: Hi Crow!

ZenWan, hope you showed the bitten hand to a doctor?
Good morning. =)

That's a good bunch of games you grabbed. I've beaten Dragonfall, it's a lot of fun.

CarrionCrow: Good morning. =)

You aren't missing anything, the desire for Master of Orion 3 is one part series completionism to two parts gawking at the trainwreck you get when a company makes really good games in a series, then screws up completely and destroys it all.

Hoping you've got that hand bandaged up and that the swelling you mentioned last time has gone down.
Hi to you, Crow, that is amazing - I had been looking through the thread to see if there were any responses to my posts that I'd missed, and I found yours, and clicked on 'reply'. Then I got sidetracked, as I often do, and spent time reading all the furniture posts, and when I looked back at the thread, there you were! Good to see you.

Laughing about Orion - I understand that completionism urge, but I'm resisting it these days with the budget all gone on the move. Glad I'm not missing a good game.

Thanks for your concern about my hand - it's still very swollen, but not as bad as last night, when I could hardly move my fingers. Took some anti-inflammatories, and I do have it bandaged. I'll see how it goes today, otherwise I may have to weaken and see a doctor tomorrow, which I really don't want to do.
Typing isn't easy - but it's easier than packing, so I'm shirking on all the other stuff for now.

Hope the bathroom is going well. It must be very useful having you around to do all that heavy work, not so much fun for you, tho'.

Have some coffee? I just made a fresh batch...

Thanks. I was hoping it's going to be a good one. I am finding myself playing a happy jrpg, and being numbed by too much grim dark stories of the western designers... But after Trails in the sky, a good rainy cyberpunk atmosphere might be very welcome... :)

How's your haul? I remember reading some time ago that you were getting quite a few? :) Any real pearls?

Hi again - no doctor yet, that is a rare thing to find on a weekend here. I'll see how it goes today..

Sounds like a great collection of games. I have the first Shadowrun, but haven't had a chance to play it yet. I hear that it's a hard one, so I'm happy to hear that I can ask Crow for help when I need it.

Forgot to ask for a link for the jazz piano, please. You know I'm another jazz lover...

Me having good timing for once really is amazing, especially considering how rarely it happens.

Moving in sweltering heat with a damaged hand...fingers crossed that you've got someone around to assist, even if only a little bit.

I know that feeling. Pretty firmly in the camp of "If I'm dying, I might go to the doctor, but not before".
Had a 20 pound cat latch onto my foot once upon a time and attempt to bite a hole through it while clawing the crap out of me. Didn't go to the doctor then, but in retrospect I probably should have.
Ah well. At least I have a scar with a story attached. -laughs-

The remodel is slow going, but it'll get there. Right now I'm just thankful that it isn't the entire room being torn apart, that would probably be a 2 to 3 month project.
I don't mind, would rather do the work, call it my exercise for the day and keep the roommates from getting injured.

And yes, coffee is always welcome. Thank you. =)

Well, I'm up 53 at this point.

Standouts at the moment would include...

Divinity Original Sin, with all the great things I've heard about it.

Saints Row 2, since I kinda skipped that one and went on to 3, which has always bugged me.

I also got the DLC for Last Federation, looking forward to getting into that one.

Unrest is supposed to have great writing, which doesn't surprise me since a person who does Let's Plays for a group called Spoiler Warning did it all and he's quite good, so that shouldn't disappoint.

Act of War looks good, hoping for an RTS that doesn't make me want to shove my head in an oven.

The Ys series is supposed to be excellent, was pleasantly surprised that so much of it showed up in a bundle so soon.

I could go on, but I'll spare you reading through a novella of my describing stuff. -laughs-

Easy advice for those games -

Stick to cover whenever possible.
Items like stun grenades or lightning spells that take away your enemies' ability to move and attack are always good.
Don't add cyberware to any magic-using character. It will degrade their abilities, making you have to wait longer before you can cast spells.
In combat situations, take out mages or shamans first whenever possible. Mages tend to do more damage than samurai, and once a shaman is dead, any spirit they've undoubtedly summoned to kill you will disappear.

Almost forgot, this is Shadowrun Returns-specific, but it's very true -
Any time you have people saying how great an NPC is, don't get your hopes up. They're invariably garbage that will let you down and try to get you killed through sheer ineptitude.

I do have some help - not enough, but I'll manage one way or another.

Wow, that cat injury sounds really nasty, you were lucky not to end up in hospital. Far worse than mine, at least my cat is smallish. But my hand is pretty small also, so it ended up being rather a large injury. Not to mention the claw damage all over my arm, but of course you know all about claws.

But in the end, probably like you, I'll take all that without a whimper, or at least not much. But doctors - the very thought has me in pain. ;-)

I thought it was the whole room, and I was wondering what kind of crazies would do a major remodel just as the heat of summer hits. At least it's going to be short-lived suffering.
You're a very kind person, they are lucky to have you for a roommate.

And thank you for the Shadowrun advice, I have saved it. Didn't mean to call it Dragonfall, was looking at the page for that game just before I typed.

Good morning, Socorro. And where would that toblerone be, I don't see it flying around?

nvm, I'm not fond of chocolate. Right now I'm drinking black coffee and eating a miniature pastel de nata - that's about as sweet as I'll go...

Ah, sorry... did some tutorials in Trails in the sky.
this is what I've been listening to

very light jazz, something to get up to, slowly... some kind of a collection.
Hello my friends! Good Morning to all of you! *hugs
@Superstande went off without leaving a link to the jazz piano, the swine. ;-)

nvm, I must be gone myself - and I haven't finished looking through the thread to see if there were any responses I missed. Please forgive me if I did, I'll try to check in again later.

Hope you all have a good day - and Crow - sleep well. :-)

I'll play it later, when I'm back online. Enjoy your gaming

Moving is one of those things where you don't really have a choice.
Too many people, not enough, most people aren't going to abandon their stuff regardless.

Gotta love cats. They're so cute and cuddly when they're not making you bleed.

It was out of necessity. A pipe decided to fall apart, and it turned out that it would be nonsensical to replace part of the section and not do all of it.

I help them, they help me, and it all works out. Usually. -laughs-

It's okay, I'll flog you for the crime of saying a different game name in the same series later. ;)

Have a good day, hope you get to feeling better. =)
