penumbren: Someone convince me that I either absolutely can't pass up Pier Solar at this price or that I absolutely need to wait for a better sale. >.< As it is, I can't quite convince myself to get it at the sale price even though I've had it wish listed since it came out because it looks like everything I love about the genre.

Stupid being-a-responsible-adult thing, anyway.

On a different note, how is everyone today? I could've used a bit more sleep, but other than that it's been a good morning. (My insomnia is kicking up, as it usually does quite badly every so often, and I'm not someone who really functions well on three-ish hours of broken sleep. :P )
I keep reminding myself that I've got a ton of games to play, that Pier Solar can wait until it comes back around again on sale, or when I've got 15 spare dollars lying around. It's....kinda....working at the moment. -laughs-

Doing okay here, sorry to hear that you're not sleeping well, though. Hopefully it'll stop being a pain sooner rather than later. The 3 hours sleep thing sucks. A lot.

That's sort of my take on it, too. But it's so tempting... *g* I suspect, if nothing else, I'll end up waffling until the sale runs out and takes the decision out of my hands. We really do have other things I should be worrying about right now beyond yet another game, but... :P

I've had insomnia issues for over 20 years. It's at least partly due to the fact that my normal sleep routine would run about eight hours off the general 'norm' (up until 4-ish, sleep until noon-ish) if I could do it, but I've been forced to the 'norm' of 10pm/6am all my life. It tends to crop up (i.e., be much worse than it usually is) at least three or four times a year. Right now it's probably because I am working part-time from home, rather than full-time in an office, and there are no real repercussions to my keeping my own schedule, other than not seeing other people who live here. Which, currently, is both good and bad, but that's another story completely.
Just been told by my good lady to go and play PC games, which is shieldmaiden for Get Out From Under My Feet. Imagine that, a Viking of my humongous size being told what to do by someone who is practically a tenth of my girth, and me the village Chieftain! I don't know what the world's coming to. Its not like the old days...

EndreWhiteMane: The latter, I assure you sir. ;)

HypersomniacLive: Thought so. Better?
perfect

EndreWhiteMane: It won't effect the procedure I'm sure, Nitro is an 'as needed' med, not one you take regularly.
If you can make the lashes longer on my avatar you will have captured the 'after'. :-)

adaliabooks: What, like this?

I think it suits you ;)
Tiny bit less mascara please.

But, the game looks really good and it's half off, so it's going to eat away at your resolve until, like you said, it either gets bought or the sale ends.

Something I've never liked about the overall structure - just a complete lack of recognition that some people are NOT day people. And it's not laziness, it's not oversleeping, it's the chemicals in each person's head telling them when they should or should not be up.
But you have to torch that in order to fit someone else's schedule and sacrifice decent sleep to hold down a job.

I get what you mean. When it's you in charge of the schedule, things can get a little odd.

"Up three and a half days aside from 10 minute naps here and there, then a 14 hour miniature coma? Perfect!"

And yeah, it's got ups and downs, to be sure. You feel kinda bad when you're crashed out while someone you actually care about is up, but for anyone else it's "Fuck you, I don't have to see your stupid godsdamned face because I slept through your daily bullshit!
And if I'm lucky, you'll die in your sleep while I'm wide awake, just so I can hear the last little gurgle before the end and have my own little private moment of laughing until I nearly piss myself, right before I make some more coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet til the ambulance shows up..."

Well....that's been my fantasy at times, anyway.

The only time you need to worry about Nitro is when you actually decide to use it.
Just had my tablets renewed sitting in cupboard for two years, now my Doctor gave me a spray.
Strange thing is I can't find it,I think my wife hid it from me.:-)

I took her advice and started playing '1849.' While not Civilization #63, I think I might have some fun here. All I need now is a spittoon...

If you can find a copy, maybe give the Lost Vikings a try. (Not only because that series comes to mind every time you're around, but because they're pretty good puzzle-type games, back when Blizzard gave a crap about more than MMO's and general disappointment.)

Don't forget Vikings is free on the Blizzard page.

Some of us just fantasize about good looking women/men. How boring we are. ;)
