LaPtiteBete: My only plan right now is to go and eat at the owlet's paternal grandparents place on Sunday (from noon until... pffiuuu... endless sunday meals... !!). What about you ??
My weekend is going to be slow, comfortable, GOG-based, lots of typing, game downloading, game playing, some exercise, lots of eating and hopefully some sleep, but not neccessarily in that order... ;-)

PaterAlf: How old were you exactly. Would have guessed for a 15- or16-year-old the first books would feel too childish (the same way that the last books would be too dark and complex for most 11- and 12-year-olds.
For adults it doesn't matter that much (I was an adult as well and liked the series for the entertaining story, the good writing and the naive charm you mentioned).

But maybe I'm just babbling and my whole theory is completely wrong. ;)
Suffice to say I was more than old enough to drink anywhere in the world. At that point I had long realized that just because something is aimed at children, it doesn't have to be lame. Mind you I don't think I ever quite thought that.

But yes the charm is what lures adults, in my case though, there was an additional element of nostalgia on the whole boarding school part. Which is also part of said charm. Kids wish they could go to Hogwarts, while adults wish they'd gone to Hogwarts.

EndreWhiteMane: My posts aren't disappearing, they just go to a 'hidden' page. Very confusing.
Same thing happens to me while the site is under heavy load. It takes a few minutes for the page to refresh and show the new content.

Soccorro: I think we need an intervention Thread for DD! Her Gifting is getting out of control! Stop her!

Just kidding.
Sorry to offend you, but do you really think this is encouraging anybody?

Not really, and you don't offend me, no apologizes.
good afternoon!!

I wrote a little pastoral piece, 3 minutes long. I hope someone in the local harmony takes interest in it if I present it ... better start small ;)

I'm going to upload it to my soundcloud. I'm not going to start writing differently ("for a broader audience") because that might get it performed though. I just write music i myself like to hear; If such is not too foolhardingly stubborn.

How is stuff going here (I have an ugly tendency to babble about myself first without asking people here how they are doing)? :D

Smannesman: I was expecting it, but still disappointing.
Thanks!

Edit: Why did I get a friend invite from GhostyMcDuff?
Oh, think nothing of it, I just do the invite to those I remember from conversations past...
Feel free to decline it. ;)

As for the multiple pages in the Library, you could request to GoG to set the "page size", so that we
can see all our games in one page, or make it more or less than the default we have now. It might
eventually show up as a "Feature" if enough people complain, or request it.

Hey, anytime! We can get some air, compare national dishes, play some games, I can show you the sights. In fact everyone is welcome, lets have a GOG Summer Sale Party and make an event of it. Although I don't know where you're all going to sleep, I only have three bedrooms. Hell, who needs sleep - lets play non-stop until the sale ends ;-)
Should I unlock my CC to enjoy the promo?
THe temptation is killing me.

Edit: Why did I get a friend invite from GhostyMcDuff?
I think:
(a) people are having a contest to see how many friends they can get, like Facebook.
or
(b) people want to engage in the lovely 'friend spam' some other sites have.
