It seems things are going well for most everyone here. I try to read through the posts to see how everyone is doing, since it can get (and usually is) asked and answered already before we arrive.

It's been smouldering hot here all day. I got up arround 7:00 am just to get a little bit of bicycling done. I spent the rest of the day inside in the cool freshness of my study :p

And perhaps it's good you don't get to sun bathe ... nothing ruins your skin like sunbathing >:p (It might give a tan, but before you know you get wrinkles and diseases). At least I myself think it's very silly, pardon my saying ;)

Yes, luckily, perhaps, I do not rely on composition for a living (for all it's apparent beauty the world of music and musicians is really dog-eat-dog at its finest). But I prefer to keep to my own idiom (somehow I like my music contorted with many layers of melodies and deep harmony - I blame Schnittke :) ).

i always like to ask explicitly how everyone is doing (despite the fact that I ussualy read the last few pages when I've been away). It somehow seems a tickle more polite (although being informal isn't a big problem amongst the people of this thread)

Listening to that, makes me realize how far we've come from, not only in graphics but sound as well. I remember when midi keyboards where all the rage despite the fact they sounded like modulated beepers (which I think is what they were). Nowadays with the right software and sound samples you can create orchestral sheet music, purely on the computer that sounds virtually identical to the real thing to the untrained ear.

Take for example this guy. who makes orchestral arrangements of popular songs and makes them sound awesome.
